My pool of minis are rather limited, not having access to older rares and more prolific rares (like Mas Amedda for instance) so I can't really make a base of a particular faction solid enough for 150 pts. So here's what I got so far (it's really basic):

Genoharadan Assassin x2 (42)
Jawa Scout x3 (30)
Anakin Skywalker, Jedi (29)
Jedi Weapon Master (26)
Republic Commando, Sev x1 (16)
Ugnaut Demolitionist x2 (6)

149 pts, 10 activations.

It worked well so far, but I have the feeling that it's missing a certain zest to make it pop. I can afford a few cheap rares to bolster this one, if necessary, but not expensive ones like VR's. Help to make it better?

well what I can tell you is missing most from your squad is something to tie them all together. On their own, the figures you've got listed are solid for their points, but there is no synergy.

What I mean is there is nothing that one characters has that is benefiting another. For example; Cade Skywalker, BH + Mit'hrawn + Czerka.

Cade gains Jolt from the Czerka, Thrawn gets Twin attack. Jolt helps Cade's attacks activate an enemy, which in turn the Opportunist he gets from Thrawn allows him to hit better and harder. Even the Czerka get Opportunist from Thrawn (for all the good that will do :P)

As you can see, you're main character is being boosted by some support figs and everyone is working together to benefit one another.

In your squad I see some melee threats as well as some shooters. Together they work well, shooters can soften up the targets before the melee gets there, and melee can defend other attackers from engaging your shooters.

But as I've said they aren;t helping each other in any other sense. In most squads its always a boost to have a solid Commander around to booster the followers in the squad.

I would highly suggets Grand Master Yoda for your squad. I believe thta he could be acquired cheaply as well. Not only is he a solid figure on his own, but his commander effect (+3 attack/+3 defense to followers0 would really benefit your squad.

Now I'm thinking something like:

GM Yoda 55
Anakin Jedi 29
JWM 26
Geno Assassin 21
Jawa Scout 10
Uggy x3 ( or uggy x2 & 1 Mouse Droid)

If you're going to focus on Republic squad, Mas Amedda is a must, as well as R2 Astromech (who is pricey, but WELL worth it). Some others off the top of my head:
Qui Gon Jinn, JM (CotF)
Barris Offee, JK (CW)
Luminara (Map Pack #3 [unrealesed])
Anakin, Champ of Nelvaan
Captain Panaka

some great VRs
Captain Rex
Yoda on Kybuck
Shaak Ti JM
Qui Lan Vos Infiltrator
Padme Amidala Senator

Thanks for the tip! I agree on the lack of synergy thing. I'll try and scrounge around for the missing pieces. Thank you!

edit: Oh, I pulled a Yoda on Kybuck. What are the odds of that happening? :P
