Darth Malak, Dark Lord of the Sith=49
Darth Sidious Hologram=11
Juhani=25
Dash Rendar, Renegade Smuggler=28
Lobot=27
Mouse Droid x3=9
=149

Malak Good offensive piece, with crowd control Via Lightning(also a defense against gowk...) and his Commander Effect to be a help to Dash and Juhani.
Sidious gives Dash and Juhani Renewal. Dash is a good Range fighter, Juhani uses Cloak immediately and stays in cover. Since she is a great melee piece, range people won't be able to touch her if I play her right. Lobot is door control and keeps options open, whether I want T3 or just activations, or Lando DS.
Mouse Droids just for the travelling Commander effect.

Thoughts?

Well, first of all, somehow this got posted in the Set Spoilers and News section instead of the squad forums. But I'll fix it for ya.

I love the Malak/Dash combo. It's a perfect fit. And Holo-Sid will really help Dash as well. I think I would probably like Jarael in a build like this more than Dash, but it's hard to say. Jarael's stun could be real helpful for letting Dash use Opportunist, since you only have, at best, 14 activations, and no tempo control. So against anybody with San/Dodonna/Ozzel, Dash will likely not get to use Opportunist very often.

Also, if you bring Jarael, and you face someone who doesn't have tempo control, you could use Lobot's reinforcements for a Twi'lek BSV to give her GMA/Triple, which is quite nasty. Could be just personal preference on my end though. Plus, I don't have Juhani, lol.

Heh, using Juhani, and then bringing in a Chagrian Merc Commander through Lobot could be pretty nasty as well though. :D

Jarael is okay, but damage really isn't there, Juhani can REALLY dish out heavy damage, and the Cloak goes a long way. Yeah, I used to play tempo (dodonna) and it turned out to be the most boring slow games ever. I guess I will need to rely on Lobot's rein for activitions. Besides not like Republic has tempo control now...Wait, does it? I don't know. NR and Rebel won't be seen as much as Republic.

Aside from the fact that you really, really need uggies and don't need 3 mouse droids, just one. I can't really think of anything to improve this. Oh yeah, Juhani is only 25 points. But it looks like you added it up that way.

Just think about this, they create a black hole for a shield. look it up and see what would happen if you did that.

They. Are. Retarded. Period. The End.

Yeah but the Mice have good defense, so if needed they can stand in front of Juhani.

I take out 2 mouse mouse droids and put in a Caamasi Noble so Juhani has cover that can't die. Then with Lobot bring in 2 mouse droids and 4 ugnaughts.

A squad I've been running with a pretty decent amount of success lately is:

Malak, DLotS
Dash, RS
Holo Sid
Jarael
Lobot (UH)
2 Mouse Droids
2 Ugnaughts
TBSV (Reinforcements)

It's worked quite well against all the builds I've come across, SS, Push, GOWK, Lightning with sitting palps. It's 6-2 in tournaments and 8-2 over all. I don't want to go in too much about it, but being able to blow up a door within 8 squares is huge, as is rerolling evades and having an 8 square mobile. There's alot of versatility in this squad that catches people off guard.

Further, i'd take jarael over juhani any day. Getting to gambit first turn on most maps is great, as is her pseudo soresu with plenty of force points. But that's just my play style, I guess.

Hm, I actually like that one too. I will test them both, thanks for the input man!

  That's the exact same thing I was suggesting. :P

Could be worth it to run it without Lobot though, and just stick the TBSV in there to start with. I'm not positive though. I'd have to play with the options.

Eh...best thing I can think to do for now is

Malak DLOTS
Dash RS
Jarael
Sidious
TBSV

21 points left, so either max it out with Ugs/Mouse Droids, or do 1 Ug, 1 Mouse Droid, and Lobot CLO. Could be helpful to have the Recon on a key init to get Jarael's Stun off. But that would only leave you with 8 activations unless you happened to roll the 11 at some point. So probably not the best option.

Yeah but after actually seeing what Jarael could do, I had to agree. Also, why would I take out Lobot, to put in the Twi'lek, and LOSE activations for nearly the same squad? I don't get that. But I wish I had the other Lobot, would be helpful to say the least.

Well, you wouldn't really lose activations if you go with the TBSV + Ugos/MDs route. If you use Lobot CLO, yeah, you'd lose some activations. But you'd be gaining Recon, which could be pivotal in a key round to allow Jarael to stun an opponent's main piece or something. Don't know that one is better than the other (activations aren't everything, especially with either Yobuck or IG Lancer Droid to worry about), just different options.

Yeah true enough. Hm, If I had the new Lobot I would test out both. Did I mention that I intended to use this or a variation of this at my regionals? Since I am really only going to play NR, OR, and Sith from now on, and my NR I still need to get back...Leaving Sith the best option.

Cool! Glad to hear you're going to go play at those. Good luck!

I think a variation of this should do OK. As we said, might struggle against some of the tempo control squads, but if you see a LOT of GOWK, you should be able to do decent against those. Just keep Jarael alive as long as possible, and let Malak hang back to build up FPs to some degree. Make sure you use him to get a nice zap to hit R2 and whoever he's towing at some point. :)

My main focus will be zapping GOWK or R2, hopefully the 2 are one in the same....Image

Jarael I'll end up putting next to someone to tie them up.
