Now, I haven't had a chance to test this, so it could be hopeless, but meh, it seems like it could work in theory.

48 Vader's Apprentice, Redeemed
36 Yoda of Dagobah
28 Luke Skywalker, Hoth Pilot Unleashed
13 Princess Leia, Senator
9 General Dodonna
8 R2-D2
6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2
(148pts. 8 activations)

I reckon this squad could make for a reasonably good counter to the Yobuck/Lancer squads in 150 atm.

VAR and Luke, with Yoda's force battery, can hopefully both do several FP4's, and Leia's CE allows them a sort of mobile push ability. R2 is door control.

If facing Yobuck, firstly it has the advantage that you will be keeping most of your squad close together, so Yobuck will have to take AoO's from VAR and Luke to get the rest of your squad. Between them they can kill Rex in one turn, if they get LoS, which will put the pressure on how much your opponent can leave him open. Being able to blow R2 up in one go is nice as well. Finally, seeing as your map will be one with as many pits as possible, it makes Yobucks life much harder, as with the threat of the LoS push, it means you can limit his runs, as he won't want to risk finishing his gallop anywhere near a pit, giving you (hopefully) a chance to corner him. Same theory applies to the Lancer's only they can be killed in one round, and Luke's LS deflect will help lots against those IG86 droids. Also, even if you can't kill him, the push can mean you can move Yobuck away from R2 at the end of the round, messing up his escape/swap potential (and seeing as you should out-activate them, that should be do-able.)

Seeing as B&B is kinda dead in the tournament scene (as are Vong) the Push' main weaknesses won't be there to cause problems. It should be able to hold it's own against most of the other 150 squads IMO, although without some further testing it's hard to tell. Off the top of my head, Mando scouts strike me as the biggest problem to deal with...

So yeah, look any good? Or just likely to fall flat on it's face?

Any advice would be much appreciated. If nothing else, it should be great fun to play in a more fun environment, what with the possibility to move an enemy piece 8 squares the way you want...hehehe.

Well, against a Squad running 2 Lancer Droids, Luke would likely be dead before he gets to push anything. The Lancer's have Melee, and with the 24 square range, wouldn't be too hard to pull off the double-Strafe to wipe out his 80 HP. Only thing that would save you in a situation like that is crappy rolling.

And against someone running the IG-86 Droids, you're still probably going to be out-activated, as most of those squads at 150 points that I've seen lately usually have like 10-12 activations. And since LS Deflect is still a 50/50 chance, there's a good chance that Luke would bite the dust from a single round of attacks. If you can pull your own map, it'll certainly make a nice difference. At the moment though, until Cristophsis gets made a legal map for DCI, I think your opponent's shouldn't have too much trouble staying away from pits on most maps.

I think this is a really strong build idea. It is a great counter to Yobuck squads, and strong against droids because there's no save or attack roll, which is great against huge defense characters. Auto-Damage is a good way to go. I think you need to pack in disruptive to make it really jell though.

-- Pushy Rebels --

48 Vader's Apprentice, Redeemed
28 Luke Skywalker, Hoth Pilot Unleashed
18 C-3PO and R2-D2
13 Princess Leia, Senator
22 Human Bodygaurdx2
9 General Dodonna
Ugnaught Demo. x4 12

150 points exactly, 11 activaitons.

It's basically the same idea, only you have to be careful about how and when you use push. It has disruptive/door control, and bodygaurds just in case you have problems with strafe or desintegration.
