I'm not good at making squads, but the thought was to give Mara evade, mobile, renewal, and mettle and use her as an antagonistic shooter to build up some FPs. My tought for the GA troopers was that they could move one square to make four attacks and then move back 1 square. put the NR commander in there in case they didn't move and coould get deadeye, since their attack is so low and all. Thoughts?

The NR Troopers gain Mobile Attack, not Greater Mobile Attack, so they would only be able to make 2 attacks if they move. The combination of Deadeye and Double is always nice though. I'd mostly be worried about their +7 attack in that instance, but then again, it's the same as the new Echani Handmaiden, and she costs twice as many points, so no problem there.

The combination of Mara+Wedge+Luke FS is solid though, and sure to be a cornerstone for many NR builds. The question at this point is still what the best things to support her are.

Garm would let the followers move half speed then use double attack, so as long as they don't go over 3 movement total, they could perform all of their attacks and move.

The New Republic Commander only grants Careful Shot (+4 Attack if you don't move). Personally I wouldn't go with the NRCommander and GATroopers. The GATs are plagued by horrible HP, one hit by an Accurate Shooter and they're down. I'd personally take out the NRCommander and put in a Golan Turret and Mon Cal Specialist. If you still want to keep the NRCommander at least put in another GAT or something else worth 11 points to make it a full 30 (Rebel Vanguard maybe?)

I didn't realize that Garm's CE was so restrictive. I had assumed that since it didn't say that you couldn't use mobile attack in conjucture with it, that it was ok to do so. But we all know what assuming does...

Well, I was wrong with my initial statement (now been edited out).

From the Official FAQ:
Q: Can Mobile Attack be used when taking advantage of Garm's commander effect?

A: Yes.

With Garm's reinforcements, can one add some rebel, some New Republic or does it have to be one or the other?

Garm's Reinforcement Poll is both, not either. So he can mix and match. There wasn't much in the form of New Republic for people to choose from before, lol...

Nope, the Golan has to abide by all SA. So even though it does gain Evade (never thought of that) and Mobile Attack, it also has to abide by Emplacement (can be put anywhere in the owner's starting area and cannot move or be moved).

Whoops, my bad on the GA Troopers and the Mobile Attack thing. I've been sick lately, so....yeah, gonna blame the brain fart on that. :P

The Golan with Evade is pretty funny. :)

For tournament play, can I choose different Reinforcements for Garm each skirmish based on my preference, oppenents team, or map?

Like can I choose a bunch of troopers one match to combat his bunch of troopers, and a Golan for more open map then next match?

yes you can. That is one of the biggest bonuses to reinforcements, you can adapt to what you face.

Nice idea on the quadruple attacking greater mobile penetrating troopers.
