--hoth themed 150--
45 Luke's Snowspeeder
26 Golan Arms DF.9 Anti-Infantry Battery
22 Chewbacca of Hoth
20 Princess Leia
17 Bothan Noble
9 General Dodonna
5 Caamasi Noble
6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2
(150pts. 9 activations)

thx to BlooMilk for being an awesome resource.

Anyway I have really liked the idea of running Lukes SS in a squad to deal with todays Meta Squads. I dont own a Han Scoundrel, so I started messing around with other things to do with 40 some points. Then this squad just kind of became a Hoth themed deck.

So what are your thoughts? Can this squad stand up to Vong? NR?

I have the sinking feeling that this may be more of a fun squad, but do you think I can win any games with it?

Well, against Vong, if you can manage to position the turret well enough, you can keep some JH's at bay for a decent amount of time, as the DR 10 is really annoying for pieces that only do 10 base damage. I'd be more worried about pieces like Mara Jade Jedi or other Lightsaber weilders that could chew through the Turret in a quick round or two. But possibly 130 damage from the Speeder each round should help with that too.

Yeah I ran the turret before and it is such a silly piece, esp when you combine it with BN/PL for extra attacks and splash.

hmmm maybe I should stop thinking about themes and go back to a BBH and SS build, but that has so little activations....

I think you've got a great base for a squad. It's only realy problem is the Golan. Instead of that you can bring in some great support - maybe Lobot, or another Bothan Noble, or, if you want to stay themed, Han on Tauntaun (though that would again only be for fun squads). You have a lot of options out there, and Luke's SS can be a great piece. I sure hate playing against him.

Dont drop the Turret, I think you have a solid concept with it. The issue isn't the turret. Its Chewy of Hoth. He's a great piece for his cost and awesome with the turret, but I think you would do better with Deliah in this one.

I would drop the Bothan and Chewy which is 39pts, then bring in Deliah Blue. Now you have accurate mobile cunning and repair 30. Your DR figs will last forever. It also leaves you with 6pts so you can add a couple more activations, or upgrade your caamasi to wicket for example.

The extra attacks from the Bothan are not likely to last long in your squad, as accurate shooters will pick him off the moment he shows his face. You are better served with an accurate shooter who can do almost as much dmg as what the Bothan can add to the Speeder/Golan and can repair when needed. IT allows your speeder to be more mobile.

Actually, you could also drop Leia instead of the Bothan so it can pump Deliah Blue as well on occasion. A move 6 double cunning could be worth it, plus that would save you a few more points.

thanks for your input!!!

I like the idea of bringing in wicket. I also would rather use blue since I have like 3 of her laying around and no extra chewies.

yeah I love the BN's

I will be playing this tommorow night at my LGS. I will report back how it went!!!
