--Lightning Crab--
49 Darth Tyranus, Legacy of the Dark Side
39 Huge Crab Droid
36 Darth Sidious
9 Battle Droid Officer
8 R5 Astromech Droid
9 Ugnaught Demolitionist x3
(150pts. 8 activations)

I wanted to make a 150 squad with Tyranus. I also wanted to try out one of the non-Rigid Sep huges in 150. I put both ideas into one sort of over-the-top squad.

Basically Tyranus and Sidious accumulate Force points and move up slowly for the first few rounds, then they unleash the Lightning when they're ready. The Huge Crab Droid has 140 HP and is actually a decent shooter (+13 for 30 damage with the Battle Droid Officer). If the opportunity presents itself, I can Pawn the Crab and get an extra Momentum in. The R5 can try to repair the Crab a little bit.

Not enough activations to be truly competitive at the top levels of 150 point games, but it certainly would be a fun squad to play. Tyranus is quite good with the right support, and the Huge Crab Droid makes for a good meat shield for Tyranus to sit behind and fire off Lightning.

Who would you drop for more activations?

The Huge Crab Droid is just not a good piece. It's defense is too low and it doesn't have DR or Shields or anything like that.

Something with Damage reduction usually does well for Pawn of the Darkside. I believe that the Droid Starfighter may be a good pick ( I see it used commonly enough). Perhaps you should attempt to work with that piece.

I'd say the Telosian Tank Droid would be a better fit. 90 HP with DR10, +9 attack, 20 damage and twin attack... not too shabby. you could pawn it every round and it would take no damage.

2 Words.

Death Star.

Rigid huges are a no-no outside of 200.

I played this last night and had a blast. I'll have to give it a try in the Gencon Prep League to see how it actually performs competitively.
