I think the new vader is a great idea for 150 B&B squads. For all those thinking, why?, here's why.

This Vader is actually GOOD at ranged. With your traditional B&B, Vader has to deal with a lot of crap when you try to attack the enemy. ( force defense, disruptive, lightsaber duelist, force stun, force push, repulse, lightsaber, ect )

This Vader can afford to sit back and still be just as deadly as if he was adjacent. ( grip 4 and lightsaber throw are really powerful )

A cheaper Vader allows for more stormies, or commanders.

Here's my squad with Vader Unleashed:

Vader 50 pts.
Thrawn 37 pts.
Admiral Piett 20 pts.
Mas 8 pts.
Stormies x7 35 pts.

150 exactly, with the magic 11 activations.

The damage is balenced out, with the stormtroopers gaining oppertunist, so they can do damage, not just vader. In your normal B&B squad, Vader is basically the only thing doing damage. Now the stormies are a force to be rekoned with. This is kind of a B&B shooter squad, because swapping to attack is no longer required. You will probably do it at some point in the game, several times per game, but you can attack now without being adjacent, which is huge. Piett also provides recon, for those mirror matches.

You can also swap out the stormies for a bith vigo and 8 grans and an ugnaught. This increases your activations to 13, and grants your grans evade.

Any comments are welcome.
