Well, on Saturday I have my first ever SWM tourney (right smack dab in the middle of my AP exams :( ), and it's 100 points. As I have a limited collection (I don't have Bane or Boba BH or other "Chase" pieces) I needed a cost effective warband, and here is what I made with the pieces I actually have.

Vong Assassins: 100 pt.
YVong JH x3 -60
YV Shaper-21
YV Warriors x2 -16 (the ones from SW Universe)
Ugo Dem-3

What should I add or take away? I was contemplating puting in 1 more JH and taking out the shaper, but I decided that the Shaper gives an extra 60 damage to the squad, rather than a possible 40.

The Ugo is there for door control, and the Warriors thud bug the main beat (aka Bane). The Jedi Hunters then tear up everything else.

Accurate shooters pose a huge threat, but most jedi can be taken down easily.

Suggestions? Comments? "It sucks"?

this is just me but I think that the optimized Vong Build at 100 is this

Shaper
3x VJH
6x Ugnaught Demo

The activations of the ungaught demolitionists allow you to out activate a lot of opponents and move your Jedi Hunters late. Another cool thing without the Ugo's is Yomin Carr. He can allow you to have some ranged attacks that do considerable damage, and gives the poison on the swings. These are both handy abilities.

Wicket is crucial with VJH. Against someone like Boba the +9 won't cut it. (and if Boba kills wicket then that helps you as well)

I'd drop one Warrior for Wicket.

Thanks for all of the replies and especially the Wicket remark.

My final warband was
Shaper
YVJH x3
YV Warrior
Wicket
Ugo

I placed second in the tourney, losing only to a Boba, BH cannon squad (he disintegrated the Ugo and 2 YVJH... I swear those die were lucky die....)

I beat a Chuck Norris band (KKJB), a Bane band, and a band that had Krayt and Lando, DS (this band placed last).

The hardest of these was (suprisingly) the Bane band. 200 HP is a lot, and it doesn't help when he charges in and then wins init.

It was fun, but I found it easier than most DDM tournements (probably because the DDM players I play with are better). Thanks again everyone!
