Two squad ideas using the new Shaak Ti, just because she is amazing.

Shaak-Jin

Shaak Ti, JM 47 pts.
Qui-Gon, JM 35 pts.
Doombot 9 pts.
Ugx3

Use Qui-Gon for initative control, which is vital for Shaak Ti's cunning attacks. If Qui-Gon dies, Shaak Ti can use lightsaber reposite 3 times. Very powerful. That's 120 damage, counting 2 cunning attacks, and 3 sucessful reposite hits. With a few sucessful hits from Qui-Gon, that's a lot of damage. This squad could stand up to bane, with all the damage and blocking.

Shaak Ti, Jedi Infiltrator

Shaak Ti, JM 47 pts.
Bith Vigo 20 pts.
Doombot 9 pts.
Aqualish x3 21 pts.
Ugnaught 3 pts.

A 100 pt. Jedi+fringe evade squad. Use Shaak Ti and the vigo, and finish attacking with the aqualishes.

that first squad is monsterous on paper....the problem is Shaak has a huge target on her back; I'd like to see this one in action

As a Bane counter....my God. Unfortunately, Shaak will go done kinda quick to Boba/JWM/R2, or other shooter heavy squads. But that's the Beauty of it.

Ooh, actually, at first I thought you would have issues with Flea's Swiss Army Knife, but duh...Shaak has Stealth. Maybe you'd be fine. Very cool.

Anything loses to SAK, there's no doubt in my mind it's one of the best 100 point meta squads, top 3 at least. I'd suggest you play this squad against SAK, see what happens.

I think this squad could do alright against SAK, but honestly it relies to much of FPs to work well against Thrawn. Against force beatsticks or shooters it could work. If this squad was to take on SAK, Thrawn would have to die first, then the squad would go down fast.

But once an SC goes down you have won (probably), they work best in pairs.

I agree. I think the squad could kill SAK, but not too easily. If you run my squad, your opponent will be keen to keep stormies in your path, so the storm commandos will take you out.

So is this squad actually competative? Did I make a top teir squad? That'd be amazing. 8)

I like the first one better. Initiative control, Force Spirit. Looks good.

Only time will tell.

So I playtested a game using this squad against SAK, and my squad won, with a half-dead Shaak Ti and R-2 with 20 HP doombot left.

This squad is beastly, but so is SAK, which I've never played untill today.

So this squad can deal with shooters, and beatsticks. I wonder how it would fare against San Hill at 100 pts.

Thanks for the responses. I'll enjoy using this squad when the set comes out.

Who was playing the SAK?

This is a squad that really requires some practice to use effectively. It plays differently than other builds so unless your opponent had experience the outcome could have been different

I think that your squad is good against the SAK though. You really need to get lucky with your rolls, but if you do you will be able to win. It will come down to who hits who faster.

Good job, although we will have to see how FU alters the 100 scene.

If competitive 100 point games don't disappear completely, the point values are slowly but surely ramping up. Look at the Gleemax forums, can't be more than 3 threads talking about 100 point squads.

Noooo!!!

I was playing the SAK. I think I understand how the squad functions, so I think it was better than picking up a friend and having to explain it to him, and watch him make mistakes. I know that sounds illegitimate, but I play squads against myself sometimes when I'm bored and I want to try out a new squad, before my SWM night. That makes me think I should get VASSAL...

SAK is a very deadly squad. It just suffers to stealth beatsticks, because by the time Shaak Ti is within 6 squares of a storm commando, she's already double attacking, and probably just killed a storm commando.

The SAK is a squad you really cannot play against yourself as you know exactly what to expect at any time. I wouldn't call that a fair test.

Shaak will be shot before she can touch a SC. Think B&B with a SC and Storm. I swap into base, double, win init, double and swap out. It is really not that difficult and with Tarkin I can easily manage to outactivate you.

I wouldn't call it an effective squad test either. I was just wondering, and in general, it is a close match. It comes down to map choice and how much cover there is on the map, to detirmine which squad would win.

Now that I've got my Shaak Ti, JM, I'll test the squad soon. I'll post how I do.
