So this came up during the week ad I want to make sure that I have it right for the regionals tomorrow.

If a red line extends past the corner of a square slightly, is LOS detrimned from the corner of the square or where the red line actually ends?

From the corner of a square. It's similar to the situation with bevelled corners, where it's the square that you have to look at for LOS, and not just the lines.
