I ordered the starter pack for Starship Battles (and eagerly awaiting its arrival), but as I read some reviews online, I saw that a lot of people had complaints about the rules. Capital ships aren't strong enough, lack of range on weapons makes for little strategy, etc.

With that, I know I'll play the starter set with its orginal rules and see what happens. In case it is as people complain though, is there a set of nice alternative / custom rules to use with Starship Battles that someone could recommend?
