| Post subject: | Disruptive and Extra Attack |
Following situation: Vader, LotF is base to base with a Disruptive mini. He uses his Triple Attack to kill it. There is another mini next to him and now that Disruptive is gone, IG Tarkin's CE is available to him again. Does he get the fourth attack or not? He paid the cost of not moving to trigger Triple, but does the Extra also trigger once the Disruptive mini is gone or does it have to be gone before the first attack to trigger the Extra Attack. Triple and Extra have the same trigger, so I wondered. |

Triple and Extra have the same trigger, so I wondered. Interesting question. I would say since the Disruptive piece is defeated in this instance he could make the extra attack. With that said, I could be completely wrong but in resolving effects I would still say that since the Disruptive Piece (in this insance) is defeatd, it is no longer in effect and Vader could use Extra Attack. Someone should confirm that though. |

Fool is correct! Each attack is determined one at a time, so Extra Attack wouldn't trigger until Vader intended to use it... The same stands for abilities like Greater Mobile Attack; you don't check to see if you have it, until you're ready to make your Double

The best way to think about things like this, in my experience, is the oft repeated mantra of "you check for the ability to use a commander effect when you want to use it" (I'm paraphrasing, but you get the picture). At the point that Vader wishes to utilize Tarkin's CE, are all of the conditions met and no disruptive piece is within 6? If so, then you can use it. |
