Ok lets say i have a medium piece set up inside a small nook in a wall, can a large piece with strafe (ie; the lancer droid) legally move into it since it cant move into the square it left to come in. The piece was set up something like the diagram below.

xxx
xx
xc
xx
xx

x=walls
c= my piece

I wasnt 100% if it could or not so i figured it could not hurt to ask.

No, in your scenario, the small/medium piece is absolutely safe from the strafe attack, no matter the size, since even a medium based piece would be force to move directly into the same square, unless one of those corners were beveled, but I really doubt that is the case on any map.
In short, the piece cannot be attacked.

Well, if it's a hallway that is only 1 square wide, but is 2 squares wide where the nook is, then you'd be able to attack it because of Squeeze.

So, if it were like this:

xx
xxox
xxox
xcox
xxox
xxox

Where the "o" is an open space, then the Lancer would be able to squeeze down the hallway and pull off the strafe on it's way through, as it wouldn't be entering the same space it left, it would actually be moving straight on down the hallway.

In your original example, if it is a wide-open area to the right of the nook, then no, the Strafe could not work, because you can only squeeze into smaller areas if there is no where else to go.

A strafe question that isn't relevent to the topic at hand but I didn't want to start another question on strafe.

I am under the impression that Strafe is an optional ability in its execution and doesn't have to be used on every enemy unit you pass over. Is this correct?

Actually, Strafe is an "All or Nothing" ability. Either you choose to use it on every enemy, or no enemies at all. You can't choose to attack all the Uggies, but no Kel-Dors, for example.

Please see the glossary definition of Strafe and the user comments in the Archives of the Gamers Jedi.

I didn't look under RS so I didn't see the comments after. I looked up Strafe in the Universe thread.

But that's nice to know. Makes me rethink my 200 pt'er.

I apologize for that. It isn't suppose to work that way. I made the correct update. Thanks for pointing out the mistake.
