Gungan Shieldbearer and Body Guard question

Post subject:  Gungan Shieldbearer and Body Guard question
If player A has The Gungan Shieldbearer adjacent to a character with Bodyguard (Senate Guard for example) then another character adjacent (Cade for example)to the Bodyguard, if the Player B targets Cade, Cade then pushes damage to the Senate Guard with Bodyguard, does the Shieldbearer kick in to effect?

Bodyguard states that when an adjacent ally takes damage, this charcater takes the damage - but Shieldbearer states that when an adjacent character takes damage that character takes no damage and the attacker takes the damage.

I looked on the Wizards board and here and only saw alot about Bombad and Jar Jar, so any help would be great.

Actually, the full definitions are here:
Bodyguard
Energy Shield


Both abilities claim that the adjacent character must be taking damage from an attack. Therefore, you can bodyguard the damage, because that is coming from an attack on an adjacent character. However, the damage to the bodyguard is not, so you can not use the Energy Shield.
