Okay, so when you determine cover, I was under the impression that you picked ONE corner of your fig, and then drew the lines from there. Is it possible to change your point of reference for each corner of the enemies fig?

From that corner the AA has cover and cannot be targeted due to stealth, however, if you chose different points for each of the AA's 4 corners, then Cade can in fact target the AA. Is this a proper interpretation of the rules?

No you pick a corner for targeting but you can choose anywhere on the line to determine LOS. I think the AA is safe.

LoS = any part part of your square to any part of your enemies square

Cover = you choose 1 of your corners and have to draw a line from that one corner to all 4 corners of your enemy's line. If that line croses any other characters, objects (green lines), or walls (red lines) then the opposing character has cover. If you wish to force the enemy to have cover, you can chose a back corner so you yourself provide cover (doesn't make any sense, I know, but it works).

With the picture you posted I'd have to zoom in to see whether it clips the wall or not. If it doesn't clip the wall, then I'd guess the AA wouldn't have cover and would be free to target...

I was pretty sure that I had Cover and LOS nailed down, guess my opponent needs some edjumacation.

@ JS the line goes thru the droid as it is right now.

You can choose different corners for different figs. That sounds like what you were asking.

Updated with a clearer pic

Image

Red line has a clear path to the top left corner
Blue line has a clear path to the bottom right corner.

can I use a combination of those lines to determine that the AA does not have cover?

Isn't the droid outlined in yellow though? Yellow outlines (difficult terrain) don't affect cover, only green outlines (low objects). I'd think the droid would be outlined in green but in the pic it looks yellow...

Nope, you have to stick with 1 corner only. If you can't drawn 4 clear lines from that specific corner then your enemy has cover.

If we look in the Archives of the Jedi under Game Terms for Cover we see this part in the definition from the rule book-

To determine whether an enemy has cover, the player who controls the attacking character chooses a corner of a square in the attacker's space. If any line traced from this point to any point in the enemy's space passes through a character, a wall, or a square that provides cover, the enemy has cover.

To clarify, the droid space is officially a green square. So, there is no corner of the attacker (Cade) that can reach all the points on the AA without passing through a point that would grant the AA cover and therefore Stealth would trigger.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, if its Green Outline then you can't attack anyone without moving or getting Accurate Shot somehow...

Thanks to all that replied, I was pretty sure that I knew how cover worked, and I didn't think that the AA was a legal target. I just wanted to be sure of my interpretation.
