Post subject:  Furious Assault Question

Hello,

I know this has prob came up 100 times since A&E, but the question came up last night about how to use Han Solo in Stormtrooper Armor. I didnt have an answer to this in the FAQ's I had printed up, so I wanted something to print out I can put into my rules binder.

1). When a player activates Han Solo in Stormtrooper Armor and chooses to use his Furious Assault SA, what are the targets he can shoot at. I explained that normal targeting rules still apply, and since HS does not have Accurate Shot he may only target an enemy with cover if it is the closest enemy.

So in a nutshell you cant shoot at my other characters that are behind the first row of characters even though HS has line of sight to another character it has cover so it is not a legal target.

2). Scenerio, a player activates HS and uses his Furious Assault SA. HS has a straight line to an enemy (enemy 1) in the space behind enemy 1 there is another character (enemy 2). If HS hits enemy 1 and does enough damage to defeat them, does enemy two then become a legal target?

I look at it that Furious Assault checks for legal targets when Han stops moving and starts shooting. I don't think that it rechecks for legal targets when a character is dealt enough damage to be defeated. Simmilar to Flurry killing someone or Blaster Barrage checking for legal targets.

Anyway Thanks in advance. I need something I can print up and put into my rules binder I carry with me. I try to print up FAQ's so players understand the rulings.

Also if anyone has a link to where this has been asked and I missed it let me know.

You are 100% correct on both accounts.

When you use Furious Assualt, you determine all the legal targets at the beginning of the shooting. You do not re-check for legal targets at any point after you've started shooting. So, killing one piece, and opening up a LOS on something else doesn't make any difference.

I don't have a link off the top of my head, but it may not be in the official FAQ under Furious Assault. I would look under Blaster Barrage, or look in one of the mini-FAQs on the WOTC boards. If you read Blaster Barrage, the wording is pretty much the same, and I believe there are some explanations for it in the FAQ.

yeah the question came up last night.

before I posted this I checked the mini-faq's and the regular FAQ's.

for common questions like this I like to print it and put it in my binder.

Suggest that your opponent bring Prince Xizor if he desires that effect from his Han Solo.

Question about Xizor & HSiSA: I went to use that very combo last week and my opponent adamantly maintained that Xixor's CE had been changed (just not yet printed in the errata) to grant accurate shot to non-unique allies, only.
Therefore, I couldn't use Xixor to give HanSiSA accurate shot.
News to me: does anyone have any information on this?
