 Post subject: Once again another stupid question from me evade and jolt

if you have czerka scientist is within 6 of your character and u attack a enemy and it has evade and your attack hits and the character rolls a save on the evade does the character make a save for the jolt because the attack hit even if there is no damage? :shooter:

If the attack roll succeeds, then the defender/target of the attack is considered "hit" no matter what. Evade only makes the character avoid the damage of the attack...but that character still counts as being "hit" by the attack, so he still rolls the Jolt save, as normal. [It's the same thing if the defender uses a Bodyguard to absorb the damage...the defender himself is still considered to be hit, and so the defender--not the bodyguard--is considered activated if the Jolt save is failed.]

I think the key thing to remember is that there is a difference between being "hit" by an attack and "taking damage" from an attack. When people confuse the two, that's where they get into trouble.

Yes. I made this mistake at the Champs last year and realized it as I walked away from the table but since they had made several moves we just continued to play it that way. A save is still made...
