Just checking - they each have Rapport for the OLD versions - correct?

It does not say "a character whose name contains . . ."

So play the new versions together and they cost 31 points

Both new ones say "whose name contains" so they work with the new and the old, I made sure of that when QCing them (are you looking on BlooMilk and not the cards? BlooMilk gets a lot of things incorrect and doesn't get quickly updated with the needed fixes). The old ones are the ones that basically say "named" with just "Ponda Baba/Dr. Evazen costs 1 less".

Ah bloomilk. Such a handy tool, yet it leads us astray sometimes.

That explains it

Read your cards, young players. :)

I asked Sithborg about this while I was working on the data for Vengeance/Cantina.

Bloomilk's database is showing the old wording, because I avoided adding 2 additional Rapport abilities for Dr. E and Ponda that read differently, thinking it would be more confusing than the way it is, as they both work the same. The old ones also grant Rapport to the new ones. Anything pre-CotF is assumed to mean "name contains" if it doesn't specify "named" explicitly.

I can add entries with the new wordings with the next v-set update if need be.

And, I need to add my question to Scott's FAQ project list...

You are right.

It was after 1am, and I was just a little too tired to go drag out my cards and go through them. It's so much more handy to have all the info at your fingertips in Bloomilk. Not to mention when I am not at home and I am posting via my phone or another computer.

I was going to try and remember the question until morning, but I knew I would forget.

So perhaps Bloomilk should be changed so that both versions of each say, "name contains" - so intent is accurate on both. In other words - keep only 1 entry for each, but have the glossary wording say "name contains"

Sounds good to me. Since that is the official WotC ruling for pre-CotF sets I see no reason not to change it, and then add a note explaining the card text mismatch under the glossary entry for the ability or something.

I also think it's worthy of a FAQ question for easy off-line reference. There is only a brief note under "named/name contains" in the Glossary.

I suppose there may be wording like that on other pre-Champions characters that could be changed (after a careful review).
