Master Lift states "If this character is defeated during its move, the selected character is placed in the nearest legal space adjacent to where this character was defeated" What does that mean exactly? Near as I can figure there are potentially four equal spaces from where Foul would be defeated. For instance: X=open/legal space, R=Revan, F=Foul, and C=Captain Rex.
Say Foul has 20 hp left, does Master Lift, goes to leave his square and Revan kills him with an AoO. From what I can tell, there are 3 possible spaces to place Rex since they are all equidistant from where Foul was defeated. Is that correct? So can the player who used Master Lift decide which of those 3 spaces he would like to place Rex?

That text is there primarily in case of a situation where Foul would be defeated and the lifted character could not be placed in a space adjacent (say between 2 ghosts in a narrow passage), thus you would have to look for the next nearest space.
In your example, Rex could be placed in any spot adjacent to where Foul was defeated, except where Revan is occupying, of course.
