Real quick question. Can the Rodian Trader use munitions supplies to give a Bacta Tank grenades? We want to say no, since it's an object like Popsicle Han, but we were wondering if it was possible. |

Actually, you can. The Bacta Tank has many such odd interactions. (Thrawn can give it Opportunist.) |

Too good an opportunity to not elaborate on this, the Thrawn one is the one that always gets brought up because it came up in Imperial Entanglements sealed tournaments but: Not including all the stat bonus CE's it is eligible for it can also attack from all these commanders:

show So the maxed out Bacta Tank has:

show Goes to show that given enough support you can really pimp out anything in this game. |

LOL, nice. This just reinforces an argument I've supported for a long time. Characters with 0 damage shouldn't be able to attack, ever. |

(Mark the calendar! LOL) It is silly, luckily it isn't too much of a threat in the meta. I think it's proof that damage 0 characters were never meant to attack by the fact that the 2 diplomats that were MEANT to attack that WotC made (Imperial Dignitary and Leia Organa, Senator) actually have a base 10 damage. They could have made the Imp Dignitary have 0 base and thn he could get up to 10 damage with the on card opportunist - but no, they gave him 10 base damage. Because he was MEANT to attack. The 0 damage pieces attacking are just weird rule interactions, and shouldn't be happening. ESPECIALLY silly when they magically gain a blaster, since they don't have "melee" on their card. It wouldn't bother me so bad if they could only attack melee, since really anyone can use their hands and feet (even if ineptly) to fight, but when a commander makes a non-combatant suddenly have a ranged weapon . . . stupid |

R2-D2, Astromech Droid disagrees. |

Sithborg wrote: R2-D2, Astromech Droid disagrees. That's exactly what I was thinking. At first I thought Doombot had a Replaces Attacks ability but nope, a straight up bonus like Cunning/Opportunist. |

Sithborg wrote: R2-D2, Astromech Droid disagrees. FOILED! Nice call. But I would still argue that R2 was meant to attack (droids) plainly by the ability on his card. (AND it's only adjacent droids - no magic blaster) I stand by the fact that I don't think pieces should be able to attack that have 0 printed damage and no abilities ON THEIR OWN that would allow them to do damage. Commander given silliness! |

The thing you are missing about R2 is that his concept is worded in a way that it does 2 things: 1. Prevents him from just attacking anyone (he can only damage Droids). 2. He cannot make Attacks of Opportunity. So the rule should be: Characters with a printed damage value of 0 on their stat cards cannot make attacks or benefit from Commander Effects, Special Abilities, or Force Powers that grant attack and damage bonuses, unless they have such an ability, effect, or power printed on their own stat card. Viola! |

I've always been in the camp of far preferring a simple rule set with a few weird interactions (like Bacta Tanks being able to shoot with the right bonuses) than a more complicated rule set, even if it's just slightly more complicated. I'm a fan of games with thin rulebooks and as little errata as possible (and with errata that only addresses misprints and such, not for changing the rules for gameplay purposes). It's one reason I'm glad SSM works as written on the card now. |

Come on now were forgetting about when your opponent kills your bacta tank and you get to save it with avoid defeat then atk. My one and only time playing a bacta tank I lost it and got it back via avoid defeat. |
