Either that or it will take some digging to make him into a one character commander (similar to Thrawn in B&B where it just revolves around 1 ally)...

Maybe, but since he's not nearly as "agressively-costed" as say Thrawn, then there has to be really good synergy with a single follower to warrant "giving up" a significant component of his cost, in my book.

But you are definitely paying for that CE! I'm comparing him to Lord Vader at the moment since they are both Commander-sticks and I'd rather have Twin and assault any day. You won't have to stand still to use it. and standing still is not revan's friend.

Its a fair point.

Don't forget though that LV needs 11s to hit and Revan has Block. Revan is also never going to be on his own, there is always going to be some gun sniping from the wings. Most likely Aurra with Intuition.

Revan granting intuition may be the best part of his game. All the static shooters Aurra/Boba/4-lom/HK/Calo (lol)/IG88/Nym have an avenue to get into the top game that has been dominated by mobile shooters.

Revan
Aurra
Wicket
4 x uggie
Jawa

This has 2 threats compared to B&Bs 1.

Vader won't be alone either and he'll have 17 more points of backup and with Mas those shooters will have Advantageous (if nonunque)!

Revan and Greedo

He WILL shoot first.

and still miss.

I like the idea that I now have a 'bodyguard' of sorts against Boba BH (wooo avoid defeat).

The uggernaught squad can now be useful with Revan instead of just Thrawn in 200. Now you have a nice beat to back up the guns.

Don't know about this. Sure, you can use Jabba and Revan's CEs to boost the Uggernaught, but it has to be within 6 of each. I guess if you use Intuition and then run back behind a wall for the beginning of round attacks. You'll have a tough time getting good Furious Assaults off I think.

I think fingers beat me to the points I was going to make. Revan's high Defense against LV, plus Block will give him a huge advantage. Throw Corruption in there at some point and LV is either taking 20 damage, or burning FPs.

LOL. At first I was going to completely discount this in favor of the Quarren Assassin, but the possibility of Avoid Defeat is hilarious. Only bad thing is that Boba BH will just Accurate Shoot the Droid on the first chance. :(

Hmm. Revan + Dark Jedi Master = 24 speed DJM.

This is a cool piece and although I wasn't a Revan fan I think this is a fair representation. The duelist and 21 def is just murder for melee opponents. Shooters will be able to bring him down rather easily, but he's on par as a LS fighter with Dooku? Nonsense!!! (Dooku fanboy)

Shooters will still have Dark Armor to annoy them. Granted, not great, but it will still be annoying. And most of the best shooters have Cunning Attack, so you likely won't be getting that against very often.

The Vanguards could really help the Rebels take down the HP of beatsticks across the board and keep swarms spread out. Add in Kazdan and his droids with draw fire potential or R2 locking doors and they might stay around long enough for a couple attacks. Not to mention the mobility as previously cited. I think they will see a lot of play in Rebel squads.

Revan seems situational and dependent on high point games. I'm sure he will be forced into a lot of squads due to who he is and not due to his stats. I like the element of the Force Corruption for a bit of different strategy.

Eh.....I highly doubt we'll see much of Revan at all in the 100 point format.

I doubt anyone will use Revan in competative play. San hill will have a really easy time taking Revan down. Same with any really good shooter-based squad.

For a fun piece, sure. But he just isn't that good really. I understand his defensive capabilities, but he doesn't have much against shooters, and he can't deal out a lot of damage.

He may not be that competetive in 100 point squads, but I have a feeling Revan will do quite well in booster drafts.

And I have already figured a way around Corruption, just in case you don't think you can roll well.
If it is a non-melee character who has been targetted, just use him/her to combine fire. That way, you don't take a turn. :D

I think being overlooked here is the real value of Revan to the game.

This guy is a nice anti JWM swarm figure, especially if paired with Maris for force push or something like Aurra CS or Jango JH. Just use Force Storm on them. Let them try to get through his defense and block. MT is great against the Republic as well.

The ability says when "a character activates." So you still activate when you combine fire.

No you dont. "when a character activates" is a specific phrase that applies when a character begins its own turn. Being activated by combining fire, stun, net gun, etc will not trigger Corruption.

I know I am not.

Anytime you have a single figure that has a +16 attack and Triple with the ability to win the initiative 95% of the time, 25 defense against Jedi with block and solid protection against shooters with Dark Armor.

It gets even gets worse when you throw in the fact that he has a killer Commander Effect that IMHO, competes with Thrawns CE.

This is one figure that is worth every one of his 88 points in the right build.
