One of mine, too. Point for point, he's hard to beat.

As for the previews, I also got all warm and tingely inside while reading Revan's stats. I think he is awesome, and will be a lot of fun to play.

One of my favorite combos is CS Yoda, Saesee Tiin, and Qui-gon JM. Saesee can actually hold his own against the major beats once he gets the force spirit and after Qui-gon does some damage, Yoda can often come in and finish guys off. It's by no means meta, but it is kind of fun. I play Saesee as a beatstick 'door jammer' and it works surprisingly well.

I haven't been to the WOTC boards, but I can't really imagine too many people, especially fans having a major problem with Revan. He looks to me like a Gen Windu, where he's not a direct beatstick as much as a commander, but if you get close, he can do some serious damage.

I think Revan's intuition-like CE is in some ways better than the Thrawn/K-3PO swap. You can't swap into a Disruptive bubble but you can use Revan's CE to move into the bubble as long as you start the round outside it. And of course, you don't have to burn an activation to move a heavy hitter up for attack, the way you do if you swap him into position with Thrawn.

Does the use of the term Ally mean that Revan can use his intuition-like CE on himself?

Revan + Bane... master tactician + intuition + sith sorcery... now there's some synergy worth experimenting with.

Love the cheap Missiles 30. Time to break out Leia, Hoth Commander again.

I like Tiin also. One of my favorite GVL squads has him running with Qui-Gon JM and some Sevs. Once Tiin and Qui-Gon put the hurt on the opposing beat stick, the Sevs have a field day.

But you can swap to within 6 of your opponent and move in with LV and put the hurt down on him. and then move out of the bubble again the next turn.

@Barzillai,
you are not your own ally, so no, Revan cant move himself.

Revan will definitely be fun to play in 100 points. I like the Vanguard, and R2 and scrub killer for only 11 points.

Very nice.

I also think Shaak Ti and QG JM + a shooter might make an interesting counter to Vanguard swarm squads. Use QG to speed up and set up for the sweep, take as many out as possible, then Force Spirit Shaak Ti for the Leap & Sweep combo. Throw in CS Yoda to re-roll saves if the point values will allow. Heck, throw in Luminara for another speedster with sweep to mix things up.

100pts
Qui-gon JM 35
Shaak Ti 24
Luminara 30
DOOMBOT 9
Total: 98

Not much good against anything else mind you...

I'm not sure Revan will be too competitive in 100. He needs another great figure to realize his potential, and there are no great figures at 12 points available to him.

Greedo, I guess, would be the best. But who would consider him great?

The best way to use him at 100 is either with 4x Uggos or a Quarren Assassin. (+15 for 20 and suprise move!) Neither are great, but I think time will tell us just how bad or good Revan will be in 100.

My concern with Revan in 100 is that he is not a top Beatstick. He has a lot more going for him, but in 100, for 88 pts, you've got to be a top beatstick.

You know I was thinking... Another great piece to add to the Revan/Aurra (shooter) combo would be Garindan. Imagine him getting to use Revan's intuition like CE and adding a nice spotter 30. Just a thought. :)

With all of the Jedi coming out, Jango and an ASP may work very well, too.

Or with the Vanguard out there, maybe not...

The vangaurd doesnt factor into it. You can pull the combo with Revan while keeping everyone out of sight. The vangaurd should never get a shot off.
