Revan looks good... but is he 88pts good? What am I missing? It looks like he's trying to be a commander and a beatstick and he's pretty good at both, but not great, for 88, that is.

multimple Vanguard vs Kazdan = many dead droids + 1 dead aleena.

Master Tactician + Intuition to 1 ally per round.

Well, you also have to factor in that he's got stats akin to Windu or Vader.

But no deflect or block or evade, he'll get shot up then when you get him into position and he's finally dropped (after putting on some hurt, admittedly): you've lost your beastick AND your commander. And that 6 square CE isn't great at the moment without mas (or the mouse droid?). Maybe if you pair him with uliq and send them in with Blademasters or something. but I don't see leaving 88 pts hiding in the back to use as a counter-charge. he's got to be in your face for that price tag.

He has block, and duelist, that's big.

Shooters can hit him, but DA helps against that.

Master Tactician really helps and the CEs are very nice.

Helps the whole faction I enjoy that.

You are paying for the versatility of the abilities, CEs, and SAs

All in all, I'd compliment Wotc on a good representation.

Maybe some non Uniques from Sith will be played now, and of course nons from Fringe benefit

Revan feels pretty much right to me. He's VERY good... but feels like he's powerful, expensive, and has weaknesses.

The Vanguard is very nasty, but fragile enough that the summary seems right... one use only... still, hell of a use.

And couldn't disagree more Menoth, about Kazdan... even assuming you lose init (keep in mind the Kazdan squad will have a LOT of init rolling going on), folks won't be bringing swarms of junkdroids to kill with missiles (unless they are at a distance, and just need activations, at which point they are probably not missile bait). While it COULD work out that way, it would require the Kazdan player to be... well... a dolt.

I look forward to using Force Push with Revan. Auto Init + Intuition means I can end Revan close to an enemy, win init, move what's her face up, push something next to Revan and swing for the fences. Either that or reverse the order... triple with Revan then push the monster away from Revan to save his butt.

On Revan... he's going to make Sith Assault Droids a LOT more interesting... free move + flamethrower = unpleasantness :)

I actually really like the idea of Revan, Uliq, and the Blademasters. The +4 from Mandalore's CE is typically what the Blademasters need to really be effective. That's 151 points just for Revan and Uliq though, lol. I like that Droids are subject to the CE. Helps the SADs a LOT. Plus, probably will work well with the Telosion Tank Droid, for some extra KOTOR theme-ness.

I'm not terribly surprised to see him have Master Tactician, so it's cool that Sith have some initiative control now. Especially since his CE allows you to move ANY ally at the beginning of the round. Even if he had just had the ability to grant Intuition to somebody at the beginning of the skrimish, that would've been cool. This will certainly open up some interesting posibilities.

At this point though, I'm really glad that I can't read the WotC forums, lol. I don't think I want to hear what must be going on over there, because I'm sure that he doesn't meet a lot of people's expectations. I think he looks pretty cool, and definitely an interesting addition for the Sith Faction. I'm just disapointed he doesn't have Affinity for OR. With those stats, he would've been a nice addition there as well.

BTW, what does "Force Storm 2" mean? Is it different than RS Palp's Force Storm, or is it just that Force Storm costs 2 FPs?

The Vanguard is kind of cool. Nasty little anti-swarm piece. Thing I don't like the most about it (and including a couple things from the last couple sets) is that bodyguards seem to becoming less and less useful. Half the time you want to take some to help against Disintegration or big beatsticks or something. But with the cheap area of effect attacks now like Missles 30, that nerfs it pretty good.

Last thing....Grambo...here's your balance to Kazdan. :P

When did Dr.Doom get a lightsaber?

Looks like I'm going to be playing a lot more Rebel shooter squads in the near future.

The Vanguard is a nice little grunt piece.

Hey, if somebody wants to save off the pics from the WotC site to their own photobucket/imageshack/etc. or email them to me and I'll host them on my photobucket. Anybody who can't access teh WotC page/forums can't see the pics either. Although, I'm guessing the pics are probably like what's on the poster, so it's probably not a big deal.

I'm expecting a number or KOTOR fanboys who don't think he good enough fighting with another group of power creep/he just broke the game type people.

That's what I mean: he's got some serious power and some great synergy possibilities, but at 88pts you lose the ability to get those other pieces in there. I have no doubt that at 200pts there'll be some goodness, but to get your points-worth you need to take as much advantage of his CE as possible and your ability to do that drops pretty quickly as your point-level decreases.

As for the Force Storm 2, I assume it is the same as Palpy's. Look at the other Force Power X stuff. The X is how many FPs the ability costs, so I would guess Force Lightning is essentially Force Lightning 2 now.

Sweet! A sith with some reasonable defense!

Sure, not so good defense against shooters, but with the Master Tactician AND the ability to move an ally, you'll be able to get in the face of shooters quickly or keep revan out of trouble.

Force corruption looks interesting...

I'm actually very happy with this piece.

Nope :P Losing initiative doesn't slow down the reinforcements. I still get 6 rolls... I still get droids. You may shoot first, but I'll still have my extra hitters... :)

Raven reminds me of a more intresting Luke, JM. He's honestly not "all that". I'm surprised he doesn't have better damage options. He can easily take another big beatstick, but because he has huge defenseive abilties, not because of his offense. He sucks against big shooters. 140 HP is low isn't it? Force corruption is kinda stupid to me. Anything worth corrupting is a jedi really, and it is easier to make the save with force points. If the abilty also activated the target, it would be better.

As far as uses with him, he will be fun to use with Sith assult droids and assasin droids. He's an intesting option with a quarren assasin for a dynamic duo game.

The vangard is sick to use with lando, hero of tannab. Mobile and missles is quite deadly.
