OK, the v-sets are coming out this fall and I want to try to fill in my collection as much as I can before then. My full collection can be seen Here, but in summery I have:

  • Masters of the Force (36/40); 84 total
  • The Dark Times (38/40); 88 total
  • Galaxy at War (37/40); 97 total
  • Jedi Academy (38/40); 94 total
  • Imperial Entanglements (30/41); 54 total
  • The Clone Wars (13/40); 22 total
  • Knights of the Old Republic (27/60); 63 total
  • Legacy of the Force (27/60); 59 total
  • The Force Unleashed (14/60); 23 total
  • Alliance and Empire (19/60); 28 total
  • Bounty Hunters (54/60); 119 total
  • Champions of the Force (55/60); 143 total
  • Universe (46/60); 75 total
  • Revenge of the Sith (47/60); 92 total
  • Clone Strike (23/60); 38 total
  • Rebel Storm (42/60); 64 total
for at total of 576/915 minis or 62.95% of the figures.

During the sets I have in bold my daughter was born and things were very tight. I have traded or purchase what I could when I could. I now have enough for a little more than two cases and do not know the best way to fill in my collection. Should I just bye one case of two different sets or is there a better way? Thanks in advance for any insight.

One thing you might want to do is go to Target (assuming there is one near you). They have boosters of certain sets on clearance at a lot of Target stores (generally they are 40-50 percent off) including boosters of some of the sets you need (notably IE, LOTF, and FU). Obviously, cases are another good way to go, but right now you can probably get a case worth of LOTF or FU boosters at Target for cheaper than you could get a case (after shipping) at the big online retailers.

Looks like buying a case of Legacy and a case of KOTOR would work really well for you, as those are the lowest ones you've got, AND they are 60 piece sets. Most of the other sets, you could probably finish more easily by buying singles.

Target and Giant Eagle (it's a grocery store chain in and near PA) have the following sets available for $7 a booster:

Legacy
Knights of the Old Republic
Imperial Entanglements

For $11 a booster:
Force Unleashed

That's effectively $84 or $66 a case, which is pretty darn good, though you won't be able to find a sealed case at any of those locations.

The exact stock your local store has may vary.

They may also have the following sets available for less of a discount:

Galaxy at War
Jedi Academy
Dark Times
Starship Battles

Also, if you're missing either the Clone Wars or 2008 starter pack, keep an eye out for those on some very deep discounts at those locations.

Okay, so I stopped by my local target store to see what they had and found only three packs of IE, so I purchased them. I got two potty palp's, an R2, and no mice. I think sealed cases might be the best staring point...

OK, After compiling a list of all the minis I need (600+ according to Bloomilk) I think I will be getting two cases. The Clone Wars and Alliance and Empire are my two weakest sets and I found a good deal on an A&E case. After these two sets (and PMing Fool) I guess I will purchase what I can to fill in my collection. I wish I had not had two difficult years so this would be an easier task now...
