So is anyone going to make a Dejarik/Holochess board? I know I am going to. I have a good plan on how it's just the impliation. It's funny I use to be in construction and would use templates all the time for things, but it was never so precise as 24 trangle/squares in a circle 12 inches in diamater, so I'm strugglign with how I am going to seperate all my spaces evenly. I noticed the inner track is longer, and the outer strack is stumpy, but only by a bit. And the circle in the center is larger then the long inner track.

So for kicks, a 6 inch in diameter board, with the outter track coming in from the perimiter 1 inch, and ther inner track coming in 2 1/4 inchs gives me the spacing I want on the rings and center circle but I still am having a hard time getting the actul spaces to be even. Any ideas? I'll post pic's when it is done by the way. And if htere is some interest in playing Dejarik at Gencon I'll bring it with me.

Hi don,

Is there a way anyone could post a design so it can be downloaded.

I was thinking of trying to makeshift one from a dartboard but I haven't figured out what i want to do at this point. More then likely I may have to trace from that and cut out the paper then trace the paper onto what I want the board to be. If I got the numbers right you can do 2 dartboard spots to make one dejarik spot. Then when you put them together it will make the center circle bigger.

Anther idea is to use a compass and make your circles.

Then use protractor divide its degrees in 6 and draw from each point using a ruler to draw lines through the center and erase any markings in center circle.

I finished my prototype and a second gen model already. Working on the final version now. As for a Dartboard, do you plan to overlay the dejarik board ontop?

Each ray is in 30* angle around the center. The Dejark circle should actually be a much larger space. I have worked to make the center dejarik circle more balance in size by actually making it larger from the two outer sets of rays has a 3 1/4 inch diameter, and to make the line space its 3 1/2 from one side to the other. I have a 1/8 inch line seperating each ray. My board is only 12 inchs from one side to the other. That alone should give you an idea of how large it is. For the inner ring of rays it's 2 3/8 inch from one side to the other and the outer track is 1 3/4 inches. Just enough size to hold the large dejarick mini pieces in diameter. The length from one side to the other is all based on the 30* angle of the rays.

I'll post pics when I have the project completed.

I have also found a couple of nice dice ideas for the randomness of dice that do not leave a player without hope in any situation.

Here is a pic of a holochess board set from online to just help give an idea of what it looks like. I believe the board is actually about 1/2 meter in diameter. Which will solve some of your size problems for the spaces within the board.

Thanks for that link and the pics. I just posted my dice rules to work with the rule system you linked here.

Here are some quick easy cards I made for the Dejarik's stats. I don't know if this will be useful to anyone, but here they are anyway.

We played on these last night at our store and it was really fun. We had enough sets so that everyone who played used a complete set on their team and we followed normal minis rules using the regular squares on the board, so not the 1"x1" ones. The stats for these pieces are done well enough it was really fun just using the regular minis rules.

Sounds awesome guys. I may have to actually pick up a couple more of the various pieces if I want to play with this at all, lol.

Could be harder than it seems though. I think our lgs just ran out of boosters...

I just made one! Used a flat piece of wood from my garage (already white) and marker for the rest. It has little charts on the side for each player consisting of gameplay info on all the pieces and circumstances.

Well I finished my board. I took the lid to a five gallon bucket and placed a piece of hard foam inside and then overlaid the board into it. I sealed it with a paste like substance scrap-bookers use to hold down and protect pictures and notes and things. So not quite a plastic shield but a small barrier.

You can see it in action here complete with some custom altered monsters.

It's a Manteillian Savrip lifting a Kintan Strider over it's head ready to smack him down like in a WWE event or the scene in ANH

Gotcha. (My monitor is kinda old, so it makes pictures a lot darker and hard to see)
