The two most obivious uses for the Republic that I can think of are:

1. Bring in C3-D2 to give the Republic Disruptive.

2. Bring in K-3PO to give the Doombot Speed 8.

Both can be devastating. Can you think of any others?

I thought of the Probe Droid, but the Republic already has access to Recon with the Infiltrator.

And, of course, we've probably got to find out more about this set before we can know his full potential.

You can only bring in Non-unique droids.

It is actually 36% chance with Recon.

Medical Droid to help keep Kazdan's low hp going?

Or bring in Gonks for more attacks if adjacent to enemy. Of cours,e if you're adjacent to the enemy, they could just attack them and blow everyone up...

I think Crab Droid will be the main choice...is there any more non-unique droids in TFU?

There are some Huge non-unique droids, so it will all depend on their cost.

Sith, you just killed my dream. LOL

Of course, it's good I posted this here first, instead of just trying it on Vassal or something.

Now if you have recon and anticipation, your chances of drawing reinforcements jump to 59%! 36% of the time you get them with Recon, the other 64% of the time you can use Anticipation and roll for initiative (twice, with Recon) again. So .36 + .64*.36 = .5904.

I'm planning to use Kazdan + Qui-Gon Jinn, JM + Doombot in 100. Anticipate until you get reinforcements, then bring in a probe droid or two and watch the fun start. Oh, and Kazdan benefits from Force Spirit pretty nicely.

Because defeated reinforcements count as kill points for your opponent, I'm not sure Kazdan is going to be tier 1 DCI, but he will definitely be fun to play.

Probe Droid, Bodyguards and Gonks could all be very useful.

The E522 Assassin would be great, but 32 points.

A Destroyer Droid or 2 Dwarf Spider Droids would work.

The big problem i see is that if you are engaged in the middle of the map, it will take two turns to get your reserves to the fight, and it may be three turns before they can fight.

LOL, crap you are right.....I totally forgot he had that in there....Of course the downside is that it may limit what you can bring in by the number of squares that are open around him.

Yeah, you are essentially giving Kazdan 170 hp with one fortuitous roll for init. And you would have to kill 3 BGDs in order to equal the same amount of victory points as Kazdan himself. That's a low of HP to work through (as much as 84pt Exar Kun!). On top of that Kazdan has Block and Deflect, so figure that some of those won't even make it through...He is definitely going to be a close friend with Qui-Gon JM (or better, Obi-Wan Force Spirit in the Rebel faction, but we're talking Republic here). Bring in a couple R5 units on a follow-up init roll and now your BGD is gaining 30 hp a round. Biggest threat to him will be character's with Sweep, I think. Although, with the ability to choose what pieces you bring in, if you have an enemy with sweep, you can customize what you bring in, and where you place them to give the fewest number of attacks.

To counter that, just bring along a couple Sevs. They'd take out any Jawas, possibly before you even get your Droid Reserves.

The problem with Kazdan is that using him is relying on Reserves.

It's like using Thrawn, it relies on you not rolling a 1 for Initiative, so I know I can't win with him. :?

I think this character will see a lot of play to begin with. At least until the next set comes out then it mite change again.
I think it's very unlikely that you will not get reserves at least once in a game. The larger the point game the more it will happen.
It's not so bad for our games because we do not play tournaments and we random the factions and points and who we can use, so this character will only see as much play as any other. For you who play DCI it may be another matter.
For thous of you who do please let is know if he does see a lot of play compared to the others in this set.

I was thinking about this when I played tonight. Second game my starting iniative was a 20. Would have been sweet if I was playing the 200 point squad Bill came up with. Would had an extra 50 points of stuff to start the game with.
