100 Points, Korriban Map:
Vader, Unleashed
Palpatine
10 points whatever (Twi'lek BG maybe)

You win init
Spin Palps
Vader LS Throw vs your enemies entire build regardless (save Vong) (provided they all start adjacent to each other)

Wow

Well thought out WotC.

Wow, that is completely possible. Thankfully, I never play on Korriban, and no one I ply with does, either.

I like both figures. Vader will be fun to use, and the Caamasi Noble will be very useful as gambit collectors.

Emperor Palpy will looks to be getting a huge boost from this set so far. Hopefully Yoda of Dagobah will, too, with the two "Unleashed" figures coming out for the Rebels.

Once again, I say that the Swiss Army Knife is going to get more and more powerful with the release of this set!!

1. That's why Korriban is a bad map to begin with and it doesn't require Vader to exploit.

2. No one would start all their figures adjacent to each other after seeing you plop down Vader in your squad. (And if they did, they completely deserve to eat hurtling lightsaber of death!)

3. Throw generates attacks, so Vong are not safe.

4. It's a fat power, but it costs a ton to use. It'll be combatable.

Ah okay... I thought he was referring just to one enemy.

Technically it's 18 I think - check out Lightsaber Sweep 5 which ignores cover. You get 2 attacks vs. target and each character adjacent to it - oh nm my bad it is actually 10.

For some reason I read it as 2 attacks on target and 2 adjacant targets like force lightning.

Let me upgrade my wow to WOW!

On another note. which Ug do you think the next one will be?

What's coming up next week? The 411 on a fig that'll make you say "Ugg!" or not, plus a guy from the bottom of the ocean that can make you feel better.

Mon Cal medic maybe?

Hoping the Ug is the Uggernaught.

Now then, the Apprentice has to be within 6 for his tricks, Vader is sight. Vader is good, Apprentice is not.

And people argue the powercreep does not exist... HAHAHA. Please, argue away.

Vader will be fun. The Caamasi is interesting, looks like it was designed at a Gambit collecter. Very interesting to see how it comes up in the competitive enviroment.

Oh, and the noble is Mr. hold gambit for life.

Very obviously. And really, I don't see how Vader's powers are a sure sign of powercreep. Vader, JH and Lord Vader are still better all around, especially in the dealing of the damage. His powers are VERY expensive, and even with Palpatine, will likely see use only a couple of times a game.

At a cost of 5, I see Vader's throw only used 2 times (3 max if using Palpy) in a game. Still, not too shabby.

Yep, they also are 150% Vader's Cost.

Please compare figures at the 50 point range. He flat out stops Tow (which is a plus in my book of equality), he stops a lot of things (BG, ASP, Gonk (I was working on a gonk build with K3P0), ST Commander, etc).

*IF* His defense was less, *IF* he didn't have Dark Armor, then I think he would be a bit more balanced.

Vader finally got Lightsaber Throw!

But that's the only point to the figure.

Hmm... 2 VR's revealed, 2 VR's off my buy list. This set is becoming more affordable. *sigh*

Honestly, I think force grip 4 will see a lot more play than a ranged lightsaber sweep. A sure 40 points of damage can be a quick knockout blow to an opponent's vulnerable mid-HP figure or one that's already damaged. Opponent tactics will limit the lightsaber throw, which won't be very force point effective if all you get to do is get a potential 40 damage on one figure from range and burn rounds of force accumulation to do so. It's a good anti-swarm power.

I'm wondering how the nobles will work in play. I think these guys could really mess up a melee squad by forming a wall in front of some good shooters. Because there's LOS between the shooters & the melee, you can't attack the nobles, but the opponent can't move through them to get to your shooters either. Or, combine them with some stealth/super-stealth? Being common, there will be a lot of them, and they could be a walking shield wall. Will need to see the rules insert to see some clarification.

Gotta pity the guy who brings a Huge to Korriban. Or a Nom Bombs squad (an auto-loss if you don't setup correctly).

Evade just got a hell of a lot more important. The Boba BH/Yoda CS squad may have just gotten a huge boost.
