Ah, but most adults wouldn't deluge us with constant "I <3 Revan" crap. (I also notice that so many kids can't even spell the name of their favorite character :D ). Nor would most of them suggest that having a single character (even their favorite) would make up for any and all problems in a set, particularly a huge set (since it's expensive to boot).

rob, you always rant-always. if the set isnt exactly to your liking you complain endlessly. we all have some complaints, but overall we dont quite go on as much. you dislike huges-everyone does. but no need to nock a character or game that so many love.

What are you talking about? I love huges and I voted "impressive." I play Imperials so I love this set. And I even like KOTOR. But because as set is good for me doesn't mean it's good for the game and I am trying very hard to rebuild our SWM community that was destroyed by WotC's complete disregard for gameplay.

Did I hurt your feelings because I don't care about your Revan or teenagers?

Locally. He and I play at the same place.

No, I like Darth Revan, I hate inarticulate chumps who "OMG!! rEvinn is GawD!!!1!!1!" all the damned time.

As much as I love this set, and as much as it will get people to buy minis again (IMO), if we get it to translate into bodies at a tourney, a lack of diversity will force them away again. We may get enough diversity to really open up the competetive meta, I don't know. But that's what happened to CotF: I loved the minis in it, we sold lots of it, but once people started playing against the Mas-induced B&B, Sev superstealth and swarms of JWM, and nothing else, people just stopped. BH was so bad that any who toughed it or tried to come back just got frustrated at the lack of stuff for their favorite factions and paying $22 to get another Djas Puhr and Utapaun on Wackybird. (did I ever tell you how I bought 4 packs and got 3 Garindans?!).

LOL, that's some funny comparisons. The TIE Crawler, BTW, is from one of the comic series from probably about 10 years ago. I think it might be Dark Empire. Either way, it's been around for a while. There's actually a Lego set for it as well that just came out, so it doesn't surprise me that it's in here. It was probably a LFL request since the Lego set was coming out about the same time.

All in all I'm not sure what to think.

The Huges look like a combination of Mech Warrior (Uggernaught/AT-ST), D & D (Big Spider thingy) and Uninventiveness (TIE Crawler???) Who comes up with this stuff????

We see a myriad of reprints (I went for 16 and we get):
- Boba, Chewie, Vader, Elite Hoth Trooper, 2xHan, 3x Luke, Obi-Wan, Leia, Shaak Ti, Storm, Snow, Wedge, Rancor, AT-ST which is....

17

ok, off by 1.

The new Leia looks Meh, K-3P0 is hmmm (better) and Vader's Apprentice, Unleashed looks awesome. SO....

I guess like everyone else, I wait and see.

The TIE crawler has been canon for quite some time now. I'm VERY excited about it actually. Although the TIE Mauler from EaW is cooler looking and probablly fits on a 3" base slightly better. Fool, I'll trade you for yours (plus the other Imps, of course).

On the Huges: Agree with the Mechwarrior comment; I like critters; Lucasarts, you silly goose!

On the repeats:

Unneeded: Boba chewie, Han(Hoth), Leia, Luke(Snowsepeeder), Wedge, and obligatorily, Vader.

Non-Uniques for my army: EHT, Stormies, Snowies, Rancor (with a Force rating!!), AT-ST

Cool: Shaak Ti (needed), Luke & Yoda (needed), Rancor (always cool, and thisone should have a Force rating!), Obi-Wan (because he's Old Man Kenobi, #####!)

I'm good to go.

Ahh, gotcha.

I am primarily a collector, but I can understand not wanting to face the same darn squads or pulling bad pieces.

Speaking of that, do you have a Garindan for trade?

I thought it was:

I was very impressed. Not sure about things like the Junk Golem and the Knobby White Spider, but the sculpts do look cool.

It has to be done in a different font color, bolded, and all caps.

I got so sick of them I started putting everyone who did it on my ignore list.

What's the BH incident?

I just meant that BH was a horrible set and that because of that set, a lot of people at the LGS I go to quit SWM. No one showed up for tourneys again till A&E came out.

But Universe had a lot of good other figures. Some Huges were good, but many of the figures are still in play...and dominate the meta.

I just can't get geared up for Huge sets personally. I never, ever use them and they end up being a COLOSSAL waste of $$$$$

maybe not for your LGS. But that set was horrible IMO, most of the figures were assorted fringe that hardly changed the meta at all. But there were some good figs such as LV, Boba BH, Jango BH, Aqualish assassin, Bith Vigo, but the BH pack as a whole almost ruined SWM at the LGS I go to.

I'm just glad that TFU will be a good huge set.

Me, too. I am hoping that with this set that they finally make huges playable to the point that it doesn't feel like we are wasting our money on figure that will never be used (though most likely this will not happen). Maybe after this set WotC will stop releasing a huge set every year.
