Not making a statement on the topic, just that I found it odd that WOTC would remove this post from their forums. I thought it at least had merit for discussion. especially for those of us who do modding, I wouldn't minding knowing if there is something in the paint.

Curious, very curious. *shifty eyes* Well someone will find out when their kid chokes on one. Of course they won't die of lead poisoning then...

Unless I'm just missing it but I looked all over for the post and couldn't find it.

Was there actual evidence that there was lead in SWM paint?

If not, I would pull unfounded accusations of my product off of my website, too.

No, none at all, just people wondering if the minis had ever been tested, plus it's Mattel that has been having all the led issues and they do own WOTC.

Unless you are one rockin' Zepplin, the element whose atomic symbol is Pb is spelled "lead."

That would explain the searching problem. :)

um Since when? back in the 90's WotC was bought by Hasbro inc. and to this day still functions as a subsiderary of Hasbro.

(as evidenced by this tag line off a actual wotc website "1995-2007 Wizards of the Coast, Inc., a subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc. ")

Mattel had made a bid to buy up Hasbro a while ago and I thought it went through but apparently not. Thank goodness too because that would leave us with just one toy company basically.

I missed that he said that... yeah WotC = Hasbro.

If I were modding those forums I would've yanked it in minutes as well. I'm sure Hasbro is on edge right now....

yeah Mattel made the bid, here's roughly what happened in the sequence of events.

WOTC Bought TSR, Hasbro Bought out WOTC (gaining tsr), Mattel make a attempt at Hasbro but could not leverage the capital to aquire sufficient stock to succeed on the bid as at the time (and still today) Hasbro holds a majority of the market.

but on topic, yeah I would of yanked it too. Even the slight rumor in the current climate would be enough to do serious damage to thier reputation (and bottom line).

I like how WOTC deal with issues with their product - ban the question from their forums. Almost like pleading guilty.

Except the thread wasn't locked, deleted, moved. Merely lost interest in. There is no conspiracy, and I would be careful with those kind of accusations.

And I love when people make ill-informed accusations that are completely wrong...

I don't want to jump on you since you just joined. Welcome to the boards!

However this statement isn't an exageration at all  Didn't you read any of the previous posts?

This is why they shouldn't delete threads like that. Imagine how many more people would be thinking the same thing if it actaully was deleted.

Okay, how bout we get this more back on topic. The flaw in the comment was pointed out, so time to move on.

Obviously as was pointed out the thread just dropped to page 2, happens.

the subject is Mini's and possibilities of lead.

While i think the possibilites is small, sure it might be, but as currently it's limited so far to a small # of factories in china making purely Mattel stuff that were aware, we'll just have to wait n see if any instances involving hasbro stuff is involved.
