I finally acquired Boba Enforcer (now my Fringe faction is complete). I haven't heard much about him for a while now. I was wondering where he fits into competitive play in the post-LotF meta.

Stats for reference:

Boba Fett, Enforcer (38)
Hit Points: 100
Defense: 19
Attack: +11
Damage: 20

Special Abilities
  • Unique
  • Accurate Shot
  • Bounty Hunter +4
  • Evade
  • Missiles 30
  • Mobile Attack
  • Net Gun

My thoughts are that he still seems pretty good for his cost. The closest comparisions are Aurra Sing (37) and Deliah Blue (33). Aurra can hit for 30 and has way better stats, but she's at her best when she stands still, and that can be a major liability. Deliah can also hit for 30, but she has worse stats, and she's lacking Evade, so Boba has quite a bit more survivability.

One of his major weaknesses is that he's a Boba Fett, so if you play him, you can't play Boba Merc (who seems to be in 75% of squads nowadays).

If you play him, is it generally better to use Missiles 30 or to just attack? Is Net Gun ever worth it?

I use him still a lot in fun games.

evade is awesome, and the missles have been used in just about every game I see him played in.

I like to fill out a squad with him when you have a bunch of free points left over.

But like you said for a competitive squad BFM takes the cake!!!

Enforcer is still a great mini. Although not as powerful as merc or BH, he's good for his cost. I really only would use missles if the odds are better using missles.

overlooked these days IMO.

I see a lot of squads using Sing where i'd rather have him in.

His missiles are an important part of his game, and his cost, and are good against vong JH.

Net gun is not used so much as you usually want to dmg pieces with a 38 point fig but might be a nice addition if you have some good opportunists to use that will overcome the shortfall of the 20-30 dmg you lose by using Fett to activate pieces.

Build for him and he will do you justice.

Because in any situation where you can use Net Gun, you can use Missiles 30, it seems like Missiles 30 will almost always be the better choice. The one situation I can think of where I might use Net Gun is if I'm based by an unactivated enemy and there's another unactivated enemy adjacent to the one basing me. Then I might avoid Missiles so I don't hurt myself.

The stats look good on paper, but in all my experiences and those I've talked to, he doesn't live up to his cost.

I've played him many times, and I think he is a great piece. Better than Aura most of the time. I will admit, I am on the Mercenary love boat, so I don't use him quit as often.

I love enforcer, hes done an awsome job for me so far, IMO hes one of the best mid cost shooters out there. Im not sure if hes better then Aurra but I think they both have thier uses one not nessessarily better than the other.

The ONLY thing I don't like about Fett Enforcer is his +11 attack, which only gets to +15 with BH. That and having only a single attack means you just don't get very much damage out of him in a game. He's GREAT against swarm pieces or against pieces with Evade, because a piece with Evade will get a Save of 11 either way, so you can just eliminate the chance of rolling the dice to see if you even hit in the first place.

Stsparks used Boba Enforcer in a Broken Boba style squad at GenCon last year and nearly rode him to the top. He was the only person that beat me in the regular Swiss rounds, and then I barely beat him in the quarter-finals. The biggest kicker in the game that I lost to him was when he got a Missles 30 in the 2nd activation of the game on my Lobot, Lando DS, and 2 Ugos. Both Lando and Lobot failed the saves, and I rolled 2 20's for the Ugos. That sealed the game for him at that point. So, he got 60 damage out of Fett already at that point, and made him more than worth it.

I like Enforcer and would probably choose him over Sing most of the time. Mobile & Evade (not that I ever roll high enough) are the two selling points for me.

Just becaust his name is Boba Fett don't think he is the equal of Darth Vader or some such beatstick. He's not. What he is, is a solid ranged attacker who can often be kept alive right until the end picking off your opponents activation fodder and medium level pieces.

He's still an awesome piece, but he's fallen to the casualty of 540+ figures already out there. He's mobile, evading, and accrurate for under 40 points. Well worth the cost........

Huh???? That's ridiculous. He's 38pts.....

I used to use him in all my Nom Bomb squads - using missles to et off chain reactions and such. I tend to go for Aurra in most other squads where I am looking for a support shooter however. And the reason is typcally if I have a squad that has room for a >40 shooter, it likely needs to be a second beat for the squad. Aurra usually does that better for me.

But for a standalone piece, he is great!

meh...
for the 38 points I think he's a steal!
He's the "poor mans" Fett and he's priced just right in the squad he's mentioned in;
the Nom and San hill builds are perfect examples of that

My only complaint (and it's minor at that) is his lack of Flight...
