Hehe, it seems like I'm always asking questions here... Anyway, I've been playing Star Wars CCG since it was released but am new to the Star Wars Miniatures. In Star Wars CCG, the condition of the card is obviously important and affects the value of the card. But in Star Wars Miniatures, is the condition of the stat card important in determining the value of the miniature? Or do people only care about the condition of the miniature (which is hard to scuff up anyway, since it's plastic)? In other words, do I need to be aware of stat card conditions when selling miniature singles on eBay?

Also, I see some people saying that their miniatures on eBay are unplayed, but since it's plastic does it really make a difference? I mean, it's not going to take the same wear and tear as a card... can you even tell the difference between a played and unplayed miniature?

Condition does matter, in most cases. Most everyone I know keeps them in card protectors, or Deck boxes to avoid damaging them. If you sell them, and your card is heavily damaged, it may as well drive down the price.

I for one would certainly not be happy to recieve a scrunched up stat card.

Unplayed can be important too. From two similar sales I am more likely to buy the one still in the plastic rather than opened.

I was just curious because on eBay you see sellers almost always mentioning the condition of the miniature (i.e. new in bag), but you very rarely see them mention the condition of the stat card. Instead, they simply say something like "Stat card included."

I know it's pretty obvious that you wouldn't want a stat card that's bent in half or scrunched up, but I wasn't sure if people pay as much attention to the condition as they would a Star Wars CCG card (i.e. they look in detail at the corners, the sides, see how much white is showing, etc.). And since many stat cards come out of the booster and are not in near mint condition, it made me think the condition of these isn't as important.

Hey

ASK AS MANY QUESTIONS AS YOU NEED TO!
often the answers are already posted-
but hey, if you don't know-
you gotta ask, right?

It's a good question
and I agree withthe replies above- I often take for granted the Care I put into my collection
Nothing get tossed around or left out of the box and all my cards get top loaders while in play and then returned to a Deck box when the matches are over...

I reciently heard about a trade with a Notable trader who got BTL'ed because he sent a card to a new trader with what seemes to be a Washing maching accident!
it was supposed to be a CS Destroyer Droids Card!

Knowing these things in advance of the trade the person on the recieving end might have opted for a better trade or better compensation, I know I would!

It's good and VERY reasonable to ask about:
"In the bag" (I usually don't care, some are fanatical about it)
if it's from a Home where there is a smoker(s)
and if the stat Card is in Good/Bad/Poor condition

Your risking your reputation and your property
it's only fair to know
