They are about even. With a 20pt commander the commando can have accurate, and with another commander he has SS. Sev already has accurate, so add a commander for SS.
But the fact is, the Storm commando can do 60 at a high attack He also has more helpful abilities.
But you add a RCTS to the mix with Sev, and he becomes insane with Shields 2. It's really about preference and what you have available.

The last DCI event I played in (200) I went 3-0 with my squad that played 4 Sevs and that was a few weeks before the RCTS!!!

Yes the SC can crank out some heavy damage against an opponent who has not activated, but Sev has a pretty decent attack against this opponents at all times.

I understand that the SC can get accurate with a little help from Veers, but having it built in is just too good of an ability on Sev.

The SC has great CE's to choose from such as Thrawns and Veers, to help him crank out the extra damage. However when Sev gets the benifit from Gen Windu's CE, he can crank out as much damage even though the attack is lower.

With the Queen, the Sevs become 2 points cheaper than the SC, and at 15 points you can fit few of them into a squad.

Maybe its because I have an abundance of Sevs and not the SC, but I like Sev better point for point.

My gut feeling is sev slightly. I think the value of adding 1 sev to your squad is greater than adding 1 storm commando to your squad. SC has access to way more good CE's, but Sev is much better as a 1-of.

This is because I rate accurate shot better than double attack.

Stormcommandos are more important to the Empire than Sev is to the republic.

SCs were literally designed to go with thrawn and are in a few top tier squads.

Sevs not so much.

I've seen few competitive Republic squads without Sev(s).
