Well, FU was my first release tournament that I played in. At the time I only owned 1 DCI sanctioned map, the Rancor Pit, so my choice was obvious. That worked out great for me because I got Luke SS and won every map choice. :boba: Are people planning to actually use Ossus or bring their own? The choices are probably a little different since this is a non huge set, but at least now I have 7 or 8 DCI maps to choose from instead of just the one.

Well, I did suggest to a couple of our guys, that if we had enough of the Ossus maps, it might be fun if everyone for the whole tournament had to play on those maps only, but it might really hurt anybody who pulls two big melee pieces vs. people who pull one or two of the big shooters (i.e. Han mostly).

Otherwise, it really just depends on what I get in my 2 boosters. If I get a couple of great shooting pieces, I typically will go with a more open map. If I pull mostly good beatsticks, then I'll chose one of the more closed-in maps. It really doesn't make THAT much difference. Although one thing that will make a difference for this release tournament is the Elite Rebel Commando and Override, since there are no other counter pieces in the set (no Satchel Charge). So, you'll either need to run your own Elite Rebel Commando (if you pulled one) or hope to play on maps without many doors. Just be really careful about that guy. :P

The standard map for my LGS for tournaments is the ROTS starter map. I will recomend that we switch to the chancelor's starship map because it is more even and balenced, and now is more available.

I usually play on the RotS hardboard, but I really am liking the Chancellor's Starship/Throne Room map more and more. However, the hardboard makes for much faster engagements and there are less places to get locked in if someone draws the Elite Commando. I'm still deciding.

My all time favorite map is the RS starter map. Its reasonabley balanced from both sides and it works well for a squad that is a mix of melee and shooting which most sealed squads usually are.

Only thing scaring me about that one this time is there's a chance of getting locked in the hanger without my trusty Ugnaught to blow the door if I need it.

I usually use my Starship, or Chancellor's Starship. Both great maps, but Starship is just easier to use it being a hard map.
