AHHH....UNEMPLOYMENT! MOre time to make maps.

OK first off, I told a few people I would keep them posted, on this map, but as it turns out I've had alot of time on my hands this past week, seeing how I'm out of a job for a few weeks. I basically got carried away, and I'll talk to those people about this map later.

So here it is Map 6 "Echo Base"

Image

I think its a real pretty map, more or less balanced, and I think it really captures the Cramped feel of Echo Base. All I need to do is post production stuff, Terrain marking, room labels, and light effects.

Very cool!

Some really strange firing lanes across that thing!

I like how it has a bit of Huge friendliness to it, but not a ton.

The yellow outlines in the Hangar areas, are those intended to be Speeder landing zones? Might want to consider changing the color or something if you don't intend for those squares to be rough terrain, because that's what they look like right now. ;)

So....this makes #6 in the set right?? I'll have to print out each one on an 8.5x11 and take them to the LGS. I'm 100% positive some of the other guys will want the map pack. :D

This was Map 6. However, I am pulling the Enclave map, because It looks horrible, and Its a shooting gallery which was not my intention, so I need to come up with something new.

As far as the Landing Zone thing goes, Funny I was thinking the same thing, perhaps an Orane or Blue.

Theres nowhere on this map that a huge Can't go, but rigid huges have a few issues in the lower right hand corner.

This map is sweet (as always) JC. I really like the firing lanes and how that makes this unique compared to other maps. Let me know when you have Felucia and this one done and we can get a jump start on sharing the laminated goodness. :D

The cool thing is....it honestly doesn't look like a huge friendly map at first. The narrow corridors, and such. Will be great for Huges with Flight, but depending on how you do all the Terrain marking, it doesn't look too bad for those without Flight either.

Well done. :D

Nice. This could be very workable with the AT-AT event at GenCon, if it is held. :)

I agree with Lobo. It looked nice at first, but then i had to take a closer look at how playable huges would be. AS i looked, it really was very huge friendly. They have multiple starting points and can reach gambit from both sides.

Also as pointed out, if you blow a lot of doors the LoS is crazy. This could qualify as another map that is both melee and shooter friendly. I love it!

Why can WotC do this!? (okay i will shut up now)

"Outstanding" job on the map. I love it. And here's to hoping you, um, have less time on your hands soon.

It looks great! Many props to you. I think that the way you've managed to stick the the style of the SWM maps and yet still come up with unique designs (for clutter/desks/etc) is incredible. Looking forward to getting my hands on this map.

I'd love to see a new Tatooine map, maybe wastelands. Something like the tusken camp from the original Battlefront. Lots of rocky spires....raider tents...

Echo - looks great as always, I think this map is going to see alot of play because of its.... playability... Very well done!

Actually, I have 2 Tatooine Maps in the works, 1 For Map PAck 2, and another for maybe a SWMgamers exclusive. The Exclusive being a tusken Camp theme.

As Far as the Dantooine Map goes, this is actually a big anouncement, but Fingers and Teeth is doing up the Floor plan for the third and hopefully final Enclave Map. From what he tells me, and I don't want to spoil too much, its going to be quite a departure from the original 2, and theres going to be a bit of a KOTOR2 feel to it.

but with his balance/gameplay savvy, and my paint shop skills, its going to be [i]the[i] quintesential custom map.

Honestly, and I know I say thisevery time, but this is hands down my best map.

As far as our arrangement goes, I still gotta fix up a few things on Felucia, and finish Echo Base. But If I mail out the tube tomorrow, it should be at the Land of 1000 Lakes by the tmime I'm done.
