Vosa was never good really. I'm glad Brood is so good, since I got a bad first impression of the first unique fringe dark jedi. Also, Rob did say that melee figs were going to be more aggresively costed.

Komari was only semi-playable previously... Brood, on the other hand, is frankly EXTREMELY good for her pricetag. Comparison to Vosa aside, she gives up attack for a host of goodies and compares quite favorably to figs like Mara Jade (who used to be considered one of the best bang-for-buck figs around).

Anyway, while I agree with Xanthan's observation, Brood is (for my money) too good for her price... like many of the "aggressively costed melee pieces". Seems there will be very few "older jedi" played anymore except for special powers or circumstances... just the mainstays.

Let's not forget that Komari has a CE that she can chose to use. That someday could be useful and justify her cost.

I've played Vosa with the new tarkin and used her FP to give her a CE that allowed me to gain triple with Twin

I hit Exar 4 times in 1 activation.

I was going to do it again, but I lost init with thrawn and Kun butchered Komari.

Brood is better by far.

I agree completely that Brood is better, but maybe there was a secret reasoning to overrpricing Komari much like we thought they did with Han Scoundrel.

Before A&E leia came out, rebels weren't that great of a faction, thats probably why they thought he was overcosted.

Brood is better in every way, really. She is actually good and stayed good, unlike komari. She was cool, but then was garbage when we figured out she had melee attack.

I got made fun of for posting that I thought that Han Scoundrel was like Boba BH JR...... I thought and still do he is very similar... both are Mobile attackers with evade and accurate shot with twin... the difference in price was the flight and stats being higher.... but I still am not a fan of the Big D

Yeah, han is similar to boba bh, just lower hp, lower attack bonus, lower def, relies on cunning attack. I think that was the reason that people didn't think han scoundrel was good because boba bh was just a better choice until A&E leia came out.

Makes sense I guess... I wasn't in the game back then. Still, even without Leia he's a great shooter. Of course, Boba is just off the charts nuts... so everything falls short in comparison :)

Vosa sucks and has always sucked. I was all excited to have a dual saber wielding woman jedi assassin until I realized how terrible her stats are. At least Brood is playable out of the box. Rob will have to work hard to have that junker Vosa be worth her points....:)

I can see Brood being used in many squads. Push/Repulse just going to be too useful.

@ugavine,
Brood is going to be played in 1 type of squad and that's Kota with Wicket and Mas IMO.

Now Maris can go wherever and be a 12 attack with a 22 defense, which is respectable and Wicket follows in her wake hopefully making her a 16 attack on an Assault.

If Brood bites it then you can always tow Kota and then move him 12 to where he needs to be for the big Repulse the next round.

I can see Brood being used with multi-attacking Melee characters where brood can push them into Melee for your Beatstick. Personally I like the idea of pushing enemies together so you can flamethrower more than one :)

I was truely disappointed in Vosa. I was hoping for better fringe jedi.

As was I. Key word being was. Now that Maris is out, Fringe finally has a very aggresive and well costed melee Jedi.

I don't know i like Vosa allright, stick her in a rebel spotter squad with a rebel leader or two at 200 points and she can make them formitable. keep her hidden away like you would mas and let your squad tear them up, then when the time comes unleash her on the remaining beatsticks. I played a game against a competative imperial squad like that and lost to vader jh, but took out VAU and EPSL. I still think it was a successful test run and i will play it again.

Infact the squad was: Mind Control Zombies

Komari Vosa 47
Dannik Jeriko 23
Garindan 12
Duros Explorer x3 (7x3=21)
Rebel Trooperx10 (5x10=50)
Twilek rebel Agentx2 (9x2=18)
Rebel Leader 18
R2D2 8
Uggnaught Demolitionist 3
200pts 21 Activations

Hmmm....I wonder if Komari's CE really does combine with the Leader's though, since they are basically "+ to stats" type of CEs. That's an interesting one.

Not a bad idea though, if it works.
