Post subject:  487 or 483?!?!?!

I've seen some sigs with ###/487 indicating the number of figs the person has. Shouldn't it be 483? 60X8 + AT-AT + the two from BOH? All the other sets contain only reprints including the 4 in the Endor Pack.

Any ideas on this?

Did they count SSB?

483 means they are probably including the 4 pieces from the AT-ST set since, even though they are reprinted stats, they are unique poses for those pieces. Although, thinking about it....I think the troopers are the same poses, only the AT-ST is different, isn't it?

I don't know, but I'm guessing that's what they're meaning.

Yep, and even if they count the repose it woud be 484. That almost makes the most sense since many in that 484 are things like Stormtroopers, Battle Droids and the like that are just reposes as well.

So we have 8 sets of 60=
480
+
1 (AT-AT)
+
1 (Reposed AT-ST Endor)
+
2 (Holo Veers and BS1)
=
484

Any thoughts?

Of course, you could make several more arguments:

1- do you count the figs in Endor and HBP? They are different, if only because of the stamp on the bottom.
2- Do you count the Alliance & Empire reprints? They too are different, because they are stamped differently
3- Do you count promos? They are stamped differently as well.

My recommendation is this:

Basic training: XX/480 (8 sets of 60)
Advanced studies: YY/125. (1 ATAT+4 Endor+24 R/I +6 starter 2007+17 Hoth+73 promo)

I would not include Promos, but the Endor, HBP and AT-AT should be counted.

Of course, if you are counting them because the base is stamped differently then you would also have to count Rebels&Imperials. I do not want to include them so I am going with 502.

So we have 8 sets of 60=
480
+
1 (AT-AT)
+
4 (Endor)
+
17 (Hoth)
=
502

In my count, I'm not counting reprints (same sculpt but different bases) or promos (same sculpt but different paint scheme/base) just the set figs.

Is there any I'm missing in my above second post?

I can live with 484 (even 487) but prefer 502.

However, I bow to the majority.

Promos should not count, but all pieces of Endor and BoH should.

LOL

It doesn't matter what anybody decides, honestly. I could decide that I have 456/456 (all I own from regular sets, plus AOE and Veers/BS1) because for me, the pieces I don't have from the older sets, I don't want, and therefore I have everything I need. :P

Everyone is going to feel differently about it. Especially those who have a high number of the promos or whatever.

Still wish the full count had come out to 501 ^_^

I vote for 483. If we're not going to count DCI promos that are basically just repaints then I don't think we should be counting the Endor ATST, either.

I say 532 to cover everything released to buy at retail (so everything but promos).

480 from the sets
1 AT-AT
4 Attack on Endor
6 Starter Set
24 Rebels and Imperials
17 Battle of Hoth
=
532

When I get all those, I'll consider my collection complete. Promos are only obtainable on the secondary market (for someone who hasn't been winning tournaments for years now), and I think they shouldn't count.

I agree with Shinja. Everything that's available for retail sale, no promos.

I like 508. However, weren't the 6 from starters included in the 60 of that set?

I am not sure which 6 you mean.

The AT-ST in the Endor pack was more than a repaint. The "head" is angled differently and it has huge muzzle fire coming off the front that the orginal AT-ST didn't have. I think that the lower half is the same though.

15 of the 17 in the BOH and 24 Rebels and Imperials are all reprints from previous sets so those shouldn't be counted. (if you got them from those releases they of course would count in your total just not the grand total).

I don't think that is correct. The 480 in the sets number would actually be counting the figs from the starters already, so you are in fact counting the starter figs twice.

So, available retail, not counting different bases (reprints from previous sets) or repaints I think the total would still be 484.

480 from 8 sets
1 AT-AT
1 Endor AT-ST
2 BOH exclusives=484

OK, I am going with 484.

If we want a concensus on these boards then someone should start a poll and everyone can agree to live with the results.

Funny, I thought I already made a poll.....

Got a link to your poll? I'll vote.
