Should would we be concerned that the character and the book are not really similar minus one episode and the character reflects the book more so far.

no, i don't think there is any reason to be concerned.

She is better in the book, comes across as a badass. But just because the show slows her down doesn't mean we should. I mean, i think people will realize that we are taking a lot of influence from the book when they see Vidian.

I imagine a lot of people will be like "WHO?!!?" and then off to wookieepedia they go.

I like this version of her.

the group is now at 189. so you get a mouse and 2 ugies or a mouse and R7.

Looking back over the group I think Hera might cost a bit much for what she does and I think the group of 6 cost too much over all to have an effective squad.

Maybe Hera should have rapport -2 for Ghost Crew members in her squad while leaving her cost where it is at. That gains you 10 points allowing you to have 21 points to be able to add stuff.

Looking at just rebels it would allow you to have dodona and some ugies. Or, You could get Rieekan. Or you could get Princess Leia. However, you can't get a combination of these.

I don't think we should add it. Giving a droid survival expert is not fitting.

Chopper has ghost crew to benefit from coordinated movement, as well as give Zeb protective. I think that is good enough (and fitting) for the droid.

I disagree.I feel the whole crew should get it. I agree it is not the most logical thing to have but I really don't want to create a whole new ability for this instance.

I don't see any compelling reason for Chopper to get the CE. We can tweak the benefits of Ghost Crew, but it just doesn't feel right to give him Survival Expert.

That is exactly what I want to try to avoid. It works for the rest of the crew so I don't think we need to take the time to think up something new that the entire crew gets.

I still thinks the chopper should get the same crew effects as everyone else

I think they have great synergy. 3 effects Soley for the crew. We don't need to add more.

Whether chopper benefits from just 2 or make Hera's CE include droids so he benefits from all 3, is not a big deal to me.

If Les has strong feelings about it I'm fine with it.

I don't feel strongly about it, I guess, but I just don't know if I see the kind of things in Hera's character that make extending the CE to droids make sense. Maybe I'm wrong, the suggestion just caught me by surprise when it came up in the PT.

If everyone else is on board, I'm on board.

whats your worry here?

That she evades 2/3rds of the shots against her rather than 1/2?

It's not like she has much melee defense

She's really freaking good. Her gun cuts through any kind of defense, and kills CEs when it hits.

And survival expert has proven more strong than we expected. (Top 8 finish at GenCon)

Of course the stink over the yun Ne'shel priest can't be overlooked either. If people are this upset over Melee pieces with it, imagine a squad full of nasty unique shooters with it.

I don't think she'll break the game or anything, but we should acknowledge that right now she is a power 10 piece. If everyone is fine with that then that's fine.

She's good. Her ranged defense and suppressive fire are her best traits.

Her attack is 9 and its not like she is getting that boosted very easily (other than using traps or combined fire I'm actually not sure how she will get it boosted).

She doesn't have 10 factions to draw out synergies with. She has one.
Also she is a commander, so no rebel cannon shots for her.

So even with survival expert, unless your running ghost crew, i don't know why you'd pick her over Morrigan who has far more options to synergize with, even in the rebels. I guess you might play them together and that should probably be a test to do.

Perhaps her best squad outside of ghost crew is a pilot squad because you can actually get her boosted. But she'll get no speed 8 and the main boosts she will have is against adjacent which isn't where she will be best used and liable to disruptive and other issues.

She has 3 good abilities but her stats aren't great for the cost.

The top 8 survival expert squad combined evade and making leia's rebirth CE a 12 instead of 16. That's why it was so good. Hera will just be evading until she gets caught and killed, no rebirth.

So, i don't agree she is a automatic power 10 piece. She is 8-9 IMO. selective builds make her decent, or at least will utilize her strengths

The playtests came back positive with suggestions to ADD things or drop their cost with the exception of Sabine who since lost explosive expert and had her cost raised. So the suggestions have been ignored because they were small changes and we don't want these figs to be overly strong. However, you and TJ (and Jake because he doesn't like the Rebels show) are still concerned because of reasons made in isolation.

"Survival expert is stronger than expected"
You are trying to draw parallels with a top 8 gencon squad who's pieces not only evaded but came back from the dead with a save 12. At best survival expert is going to be good for evades and some grenades. The strongest part of that top 8 squad isn't applicable.

TJ tried comparing her to Morrigan who is 4 points cheaper and FRINGE.

So no, I don't acknowledge she is power 10. I acknowledge she is decent and the rest is conjecture.

I like Hera where she is. She feels like the character and synergizes nicely with the rest of the crew. Suppressive Fire is a strong ability, but it suits her, and the rest of her stat block isn't all that impressive. I also don't think that Survival Expert within 6 just to the rest of the Ghost Crew is going to break anything. And if people want to play her without the rest of the crew, I think they'll find her really too expensive.

It's good to be cautious, and I respect your concerns, but I really think she's just about where we want her.

@ Les's suggestion--that could be really fun, but I feel like we don't have the time to balance it properly. Perhaps a future incarnation of the character could look into that.

Since there are only two pieces, I am not sure how much it would do.
It would be best to do her as a Rebel anyway and we will ave to wait till next season for that. Since this is the last set I am helping with I figured to suggest it in case it get over looked later on down the line
