This is THE thread for all things Vassal.

Step 1: Install the Vassal engine. http://www.vassalengine.org/
Step 2: Download the Star Wars Miniatures module, linked below. Put it in a folder of your choice. Choose File->Open Module and navigate to where you put the module. Select it to open it, and Vassal will remember the location for the future.

Please, whenever you're playing on Vassal, make sure that you have installed the most current mod and extensions on your computer; this will ensure that both you and your fellow players will be able to see each others' pieces.

[b]The current version (as of April 20, 2020) is 13.0. The file name is still "SWMinis.vmod" as always, but you will see this when you load the mod:
Code:
 - SWM Skirmish Game version 13.0
 - Extension Virtual Sets 1-10 v1-10 loaded
 - Extension Virtual Sets 11-17 v11-17 loaded

Here's the link to download the mod file:
SWMinis.vmod -- https://1drv.ms/u/s!AlCd5BRrzxGCg-RmWKyBHWiiNdPqsw?e=kcNTkN

If you have any questions or problems, please PM me.

The V-Set Extension for sets 11-17 is now up. You can download them from my OneDrive account:

Virtual Sets 1-10.mdx -- https://1drv.ms/u/s!AlCd5BRrzxGCgZ8NYatA83kdYyCvNw
Virtual Sets 11-17.mdx -- https://1drv.ms/u/s!AlCd5BRrzxGCg4tHbjaaadiVOtyn8Q?e=qa1FIX

However, there have been some changes. Because of the (frustrating!) way that the Extension files work on Vassal, it was taking me HOURS to re-alphabetize the setlist every time I added the pieces from a new V-Set, in addition to the already time-consuming work of adding the new characters. Therefore, I decided to list the new V-Set pieces in a new file; the result is that your SWM mod will now have two V-Set Extension files to work with, rather than just one.

Once it is set up, you will find the V-Set pieces in the list with their associated Factions, as always. The only difference is that now the V-Set pieces will be listed in 2 alphabetized groups of V-Set minis, rather than just one. You will find two headings for the V-Set minis of each faction: "==V-Sets 1-10==" and "==V-Sets 11-17==". I think it'll be pretty straight-forward.

Instructions:
  • Using the links provided, download BOTH the "Virtual Sets 1-10.mdx" AND the "Virtual Sets 11-17.mdx" files onto your computer. (For simplicity's sake, I'd suggest saving them to your desktop.)
  • Open Vassal as normal.
  • In the basic "Vassal" window that pops up (the one that's kinda pointless most of the time), one of the Modules will be called "SWM Skirmish Game."
  • R-click "SWM Skirmish Game" and choose "Add Extension"
  • Navigate to the place where you saved both of the "Virtual Set...mdx" files, and select one. This will automatically add it to your "SWM Skirmish Game" module.
  • Then do the same to add the other "Virtual Set" mdx file.
  • IF you already had the original "Virtual Sets.mdx" file installed on your computer (which you probably did if you've been using any V-Set pieces at all), then you should ALSO R-click that file and choose "Deactivate" (if you don't, then the pieces from Sets 1-10 will show up twice).
  • Then start your SWM mod as normal.

You will now have access to all of the V-Set pieces released so far!

Update: June 3, 2019

I learned that some minis were missing from the NR faction in the V-Set 11-15 file, so I fixed that error. And while I was at it, I also updated the file with the most recent sets (16 & 17). Then I renamed the file, so the new file (with a new link, see above) is called "Virtual Sets 11-17.mdx"

Please delete your old 11-15 file, as it is now obsolete and redundant.
