I don't think there should be any pit squares on legal tiles for Tile Wars. There are a couple new tile packs, too, that I don't think have been reviewed for Tile Wars. Thoughts on those?

I will Double Check again later, But i realy Did not see more than 1 or 2 tiles that sholuld be legal.

Now to the Pits, THe only issue i see is with the Battle Droid Factory, and Destroyer Droid Factory. These have pits, but they are much smaller and have not caused an issue as much in the past. Also they dont have the Choke points that the other tile does.

Also on this note i Feel We should come up with a New list of Tiles that are legal.

Agreed - they should be clearly listed by source (where to find them) and by name.

some of the tiles have swimming pools, that are considered pits(must be
really deep, or SWM's can't swim)
so, it not just real pits, it's pool pits, like the one TJ used @ GC
any tiles with pits should be banned :saber:

There are swimming pool tiles and I believe they are pits, too, but the tile I was using was from a floating base, so it was an opening to an ocean. Quite a bit deeper.

In any case, I agree with the no pits sentiment.

Dimensional Time Ship tile set was recently released by Christopher West. Which ones should be legal for Tile Wars?

Suggestions...

Legal:
Private Collection (2-square door on edge, lots of low objects)
Port Side Quantum Engine (Ditto above)
Storage Compartment (Ditto above)
Observatory
Master Suite (one square for possible hiding, but the door stays open)
Gardens
The Library
Regeneration Chamber
Swimming Pool (all difficult terrain)
Planetarium
Regeneration Center

Illegal:
Control Room Left
Control Room Right
Nexus Core Left
Nexus Core Right
Alternate Control Chamber Left
Alternate Control Chamber Right (all 6 of these are obvious - only 1 square for a door)
Starboard Side Quantum Engine (1 square choke-point)
Intersection (escape pod too perfect for hiding)
Access Corridor (even worse than Intersection)
Guest Rooms (too easy to hide in the rooms)
Cloister top/Cloister bottom(only 1 square door at edge)
Port Side wing (pits... unless Caedus gets changed, then make it legal)
Starboard Side Wing (same)
Mess Deck (too many hiding spots)

Unfortunately, I don't see any that are likely to be used. The ones that look interesting are "too" interesting with doors and hiding spots where GMA shootes can easily pop in/out. The ones I suggested as legal are all pretty boring. Open a door and everybody is right there.

You hurt my feeling TJ (exaggerating to make a point). I went to great lengths to do exactly this. The TILE WARS thread has it all. INCLUDING Links to websites, and even direct links to individual digitally downloadable tiles.

Quote:
Rebel Storm Starter:Cargo Bay
Control Room
Detetion Block
Hanger Bay
Hyperdrive Station
Storage

Clone Strike Starter:
Battle Droid Factory
Crater
Destroyer Droid Factory
Execution Pillar
Power Station
Shattered Hall
Shattered Pillar
Speeder Wreck

Leauge Kits:

Bombed Out Villa
Crumbled Depot
Ruined Plaza

Clone Strike Ultimate Missions:
Broken Ediface

Revenge of the Sith Ultimate Missions:
Starfighter

Official WotC downloadable tiles:
Desert & Sarlacc Tiles
Throne Room Tiles (Please keep in mind only the 4th tile with two un-walled ends will work for TILE WARS.)

*note - Turbolift Cluster and Shaft are not legal Tiles for TILE WARS*

Christopher West's Tiles (aka "Mapmaker")
Link to buy these tiles: http://www.mapsofmastery.com/store.html
Cargo Hold
Guard Post
Extension Bridge
Cargo Loading Dock
Control Car
Empty Freight Car
Freight Car
Passenger Car

Here is what the additional Christopher West Tiles that are also legal are:

Surveillance Station Terrain Card Set:
(Most of these tiles are 2 sided, so I put them in pairs to make it easier.)
Gambling Lounge/Security Corridor (both sides are legal)
Maintenance Bay/Galley (both sides are legal)
Landing Platform 1 (both sides are legal)
Landing Platform 2 (both sides are legal)
Security Hanger/Submersible Bay (both sides are legal)
Storage (ONLY the side WITHOUT the "Maps of Mastery" logo is legal)

"Railway Station Tiles" (5x8) Terrain Card Set:
(Most of these tiles are 2 sided, so I put them in pairs to make it easier.)
Cargo Loading Dock/Engineering Bay (both sides are legal)
Control Car/Control Car Rooftop (both sides are legal)
Empty Freight Car/Empty Freight Car Rooftop (both sides are legal)
Freight Car/Freight Car Rooftop (both sides are legal)
Passenger Car/Passenger Car Rooftop (both sides are legal)
Extension Bridge (Retracted Bridge on reverse side is NOT legal)
Railway Line (reverse side is not a tile)

"Alien Starship Tiles" (5x8) Terrain Card Set:
(Most of these tiles are 2 sided, so I put them in pairs to make it easier.)
Abdominal Structure (Biogel Chamber on reverse side is NOT legal)
Alien Floor (Biomechanical Starfighter on reverse side is NOT legal)
Audience Chamber/Command Pod (both sides are legal)
Empty Chamber (Alcoves on reverse side is NOT legal)

and DOWNLOADABLE tiles from Maps of Mastery:

Quicksand
Campsite
Crash Site
Control Car Roof
Freight Car Roof
Hangar Bay
Starfighter
Extension Bridge
Dragon's Hoard
Mining Track
Command Pod

But it DOES need to be updated.

Thanks, this will be helpful. Once life settles for me a bit, I will go over these and post here.

I definitely think all pit tiles are going to go.

If SBM doesn't allow movement into pits, pits could be okay. The balance committee is talking about that. Pushing and repulsing around pits could be fun. Probably not broken. Very rarely comes up in normal skirmishes.

I think I just lost track of the main thread. I dunno. (Insert other excuse here.)

You know what would be AWESOME? (Mr Admin, sir)

A new forum for "Alternative Formats"

Then the official TILE WARS thread could be stickies there.

We could have Royal Rumble, King of the Ring, Dynamic Duos, Assassin Style, Minis Madness, etc.

We could even post rules for each mass battle.

We actually really need this.

If you can move the TILE WARS thread over to this forum, that would be great!
