You should post this to bloomilk.com, too. I'm curious as to what you saw as the main drawbacks of Vassal.
Main thing I found with Vassal is that I had nobody to play because of my time zone (Australian Central standard); so I tried to play myself (via another computer) in order to learn how it works and found it a very hard learning curve.
Don't know which version I had but I think that rules could be broken by accident and there was no back button (so if you accidentally activated a third figure during the turn there was no way of taking that move back).
Also there was no structured leagues or tournaments (didn't know about swmgamers.com at that time).

I downloaded it, and am trying it. What do you do at the end of the round? I've activated all my guys, but I can't figure out what to do next?
Your supposed to go to the initiative roll for the next round! I'll fire up my program and see if I can tell what went wrong.
PS I'm sending you a PM to see what difficulty you had it on, I assume 'easy' but I'll ask anyway
