I was looking for the online line of sight tools, and found the mapexplorer tools for offline. I asked chris beitkopf if he would allow me to host a copy, however for support reasons he has offered to host on his site with the current maps. Chris will hopefully post a link here shortly with the ones he has converted so far.

I believe a certain gamer took his version down recently?

Yes, bkchi took his tools down.

Map Explorer is awesome. I'd love to see it updated with all the new maps. 8-)

I sent Chris a copy of the latest map files including those for Chris Wests maps :).

He is going to do as many as possible from those I sent.

No doubt. There were more than a few eye-openers the first time I used it.

I gave Chris a suggested list of ones to start with, but if anyone has suggestions for ones that are necessary, etc, then maybe a good starting point.

The tool is great, not only does is it a great tool anyway, but this version can be used on your phone/tablet/mac, etc.

Very handy!

Awesome. I like that I can use it on my iphone, helps eliminate those controversial LoS calls and speeds the game up.

Will this tool be updated or is there an alternative?

Just wanted to mention, I am working on making map files in the offline version for the current restricted maps that are missing (I need to grab a few of the newest maps when the next Vassal mod is finished).

Eventually I will try to catch up the full map list, but that is a big project, so will take a top down approach.

After the new maps are sanity checked by folks that know them really well, I'll contact the creator about getting them added into his online tool.

So far I've done Cantina, Rhen Var, Jabba's Palace and Asteroid Base.
(and Smuggler's Base)

Some of them are rather busy  :P

I guess the answer to that is, I now have more maps to add from the restricted list.

I started that process after MP5 came out (I was on the Kickstarter so I had access to digital images). I've been busy so it has been on the back burner, but perhaps I'll be able to get back to it pretty soon.

The download on my file share has everything from the 2013 restricted map list in it. I'm sure you know where the link is on Bloo, but for those who may not, it's in my sig here as well. Look for Game Tools once you're on the site.

A lot of the older non-WotC maps I don't have usable images for, or haven't gotten to adding yet.

Not sure if that even pertains to your question, so post again or send me a PM.
