Trandoshan's are fairly weak, bossk aside. I think handing out snare rifle to trandoshans wouldn't be game breaking. Specially since most trandoshans don't want an enemy pinned in LOS, as they can't move once that happens (a lot of them have mercenary).

Except that giving out that much Snare Rifle will unfairly hurt Melee squads. I don't see it making it out of playtesting.

Maybe give Trandoshan Hunt Master Snare Rifle but don't give it to anyone via CE, etc.

What about handing out blast cannon ala republic commando trando?

Ambush is good. I think if we don't want to give them utility (snare/netgun), then they really need an attack boost more than a damage boost.

Slightly different idea

Trandoshan Hunt Master
HP 50
Def 18
Atk 12
Dmg 20

Clan (Trandoshan allies gain +2 attack)
Greater Mobile Attack
Rapport (Characters whose name contains Trandoshan cost 1 less when in a squad with this character)

Advanced Snare Rifle: A character hit by this character's attack cannot move until the end of this characters next turn.

CE: Allied Trandoshans gain Swarm+2


My thought process was that he is leading the hunt sticks the dude and then other trandoshans swarm to finish.

Looking at the Trandoshan non-uniques, I don't think we're giving them what they need. The mercenary ability is such a mobility killer, and both the regular and elite have low attacks. If they could get close to someone and had decent, double claw/rend gives them a big boost to potentially do a lot of damage. The merc has the dreaded 20hp... now that most attacks are 20+, 20hp isn't worth much more than 10hp. A Trandoshan movement breaker would perhaps help the mercs more than anything. Or something that says they can't attack... so therefore they can move.

This version has way too much. Just throwing ideas out there to see people find any of it interesting.

Trandoshan Hunt Master
HP 80
Def 17
Atk 10
Dmg 30

Greater Mobile Attack
Regeneration 10
Snare Rifle
Hunter's Patience (Adjacent allies with Mercenary may not attack non-adjacent enemies)
Synergy (Non-unique Trandoshan allies gain +4 attack)
Clan (Trandoshan allies gain Bounty Hunter +2)

CE
At the end of this character's turn, a Trandoshan ally within 6 squares may move up to its Speed.
Followers with a name or ability that contains Hunter gain Ambush and Double Attack

I'm not a huge fan of this tweak. It is much harder to keep track of, and is of little benefit depending on activation status.

As for movement breakers, remember, this is a Fringe character, boosting Fringe characters. They already have access to all the movement breakers they want.

My thought with it was that if that hunt master is first one round, it last the next round and the opponent character is going to sit there a while. I imagine sticking Mace and then letting everyone pepper him for a bit and run him low on FP or do some serious damage to bring him down a bit.

The idea came from Bastilla and her ability that last until her next turn or Override which work similar just on a character instead of a door.

In order to give the non-unique trandoshans the help they need we need to address Mercenary, but but I don't think it makes sense to address Trandoshan Mercenaries without also talking about the other mercenaries. A new Merc Commander should do that, though, not this piece. So focusing exclusively on 'hunters' with this piece is making more sense to me.

I really like this, but I think it should help Trandoshans a little. So, how about adding one or both of these:

Clan (Non-unique Trandoshan allies gain Bounty Hunter +2)
CE
Trandoshan allies gain Immobilizing Rend and +4 Attack.

I don't think adding a multi attack ability to hunters is the way to go unless it's relatively expensive or restricted to Non-uniques as it may be a bit too much with the possibility of TBSV + Boba, BH.

Ambush works nicely with Clan since it means that, provided they can move, the Trandoshan Mercs are slightly more likely to be able to make use of Double Claw + Rend.

That and it won't be used to boost the figures you want to boost. Just look at those with Jedi Hunter.

Agreed. "Contains Hunter" is too broad for such a potentially powerful CE.

Lord_Ball, I like that version. I'd increase attack to 10, though.

Mando and Durge could easily be excluded by saying "Fringe Bounty Hunter followers". Nearly all bounty hunters are fringe. The only ones in factions are Mando, Durge x2, Jango Fett, and Mira.

It doesn't bother me to grant it to Jango. Giving Boba Merc 12 squares movement and then accurate 60 (or 120 w/Whorm) is pretty powerful... might even put him into tier 1 discussion, but I don't think it's game-breaking.

8 is high enough for the cost. I like this and the potential squads it opens up.

Could this be the piece that finally makes Puhr Justice a reality? Fingers crossed! :lol:
