Since I don't know when I'll be logging back into the forums, I better post this now. Starting in November, I'm going to start looking into improving the pairing software used at Gencon. The core functionality will remain the same. However, I'm going to be redoing a lot of the stuff surrounding the core program to make it easier for people to use. The big items that I'm looking to add are as follows: - Completely redoing the interface, so it's more intuitive. - Allow interaction with the ranking system. Other features I'm looking to add are: - Ability to add players late to a tournament - Multiple match results - Customized match results - Ability to change order, or enable/disable tiebreakers used for Swiss pairings I know there are other things I may have missed, or forgotten, so let me know if there is anything you would like to add to the software before I start working on this in earnest in late November/December. I should see this at least once before then |

Making it so "at the click of a button" all the results, squads, scores, etc., fly magically to the SWMGPA Rankings site! We prolly need to talk about that (since I'm in charge of whipping my programmer every time I want him to work on it). I'm kezzamachine@hotmail.com if you wanna chat! |

However, I am going to be prioritizing getting the standard version of the software to run before I consider looking at developing a mobile version. iPhone would likely not be on the table yet, only because I don't own an iPhone, but do own an Android device. Agreed, I'll likely be sending you an email soon. I do have a few questions that I have right now, and it's probably better for us to use email, since I drop in and out of Gamers without much warning, but tend not to ignore my personal email. I'm likely going to start planning out the new software in the next few days. Still time to let me know of any other items that I may be missing. Should be a bit more active now that I've moved out of my old place. |
