Who's Yer Con 2012

March 2-4, 2012
Clarion Waterfront Hotel
Indianapolis, IN

I will be running a special kind of tourney here on March 3rd at noon. The Con is free, the event is free, and prizes will be provided by the Indy Knights. I am providing all materials you need only show up.

For this event I have created 64 teams. Each team is 50 points and includes no uniques. The matches are arranged in a single elimination bracket.

Players will compete with a variety of squads and factions. The goal being to score as many points as possible (Including Gambit). When only the elite eight are left, the top scoring players will get to choose which team they want to try and take to the championship game.

The games take about 15 minutes each and focus on the very basics of the game. We have played through the bracket about 8 times. It is fast paced fun, and hope to see some of you there.

Thanks to the Kokomo crew for helping to make this event a success.

We had 10 people show up. The event took longer than I had anticipated, but everyone had a good time.

Congratulations to Flores for leading the Republic to victory over coach Giles and the Sith in the championship game.

I am putting together a document on how the event runs. Send me a PM if you would like a copy.

Do you have squad list or anything like that you can post?

I have all the squad lists and results for each game. 64 teams, 63 games. It's a lot to post. I am working on getting it put into a PDF. Once that is done anyone is welcome to a copy.

Here is how the different matches went.
The squad is named by its rank within its own faction. The other number is how many points that team scored.
I will provide squad lists later today or tomarrow.

Here are the squad lists and maps that were played. I should have a rules document ready in the next day or two.

It really was a fun event. Good for people of any skill level, and really nice for newer players as the player need only show up to play. Randy has the squads made and dice, markers for every squad and this makes it super easy. The games are fast with a cap of 50 points in each game and no uniques, and it is very possible to make the top 8 with not such a great record provided you score plenty of points each game even in losses. At one point during the event I was 3-3 and had 293 out of 300 points. Went on a run to 7-3 and had 496 out of 500 points.

The event is a lot of fun as mentioned and would really be a nice addition to future GenCons after this year if possible and room is available. With possible great prize support, it would seem an easy sell out event.
