Ok so I have heard my Dad talk about people talking about banning maps.
He said that Mustafar might be one of them. I like this map but with the force push should it be banned?

I am kind of wondering.

So what do you think?

I think mustafar was already a terrible map, but now it is just insane. Push+a small corridor sorrounded by pits= what should be a banned map.

Frankly, I'd throw about half of the WotC maps out, and replace them with JediCartographer's work... his are all balanced, huge friendly, and playable for shooters and melee both.

Mustafar... Geonosis... Korriban... Bespin... all should be gone for my money.

i completely agree Grambo. Wotc map creating staff apparently dont know game mechanics.

They were skirmish maps for fun; now we've gone towards competitive play and.....no new maps. (Korriban is the only one that doesn't fit)

Mustafar, Korriban and the geonosis arena are worthless maps, I say trash them.

After some consideration and discussion with other mods, I have unlocked this thread.

But I think if it becomes a protest for banning certain maps, that is something that should be done on the WotC page for WotC people to see. Venting and protesting about it here won't accomplish anything.

I would start a thread over on WOTC about trying to start a protest, but I lost my password and don't remember the e-mail I used to start my account with when they transfered.

I don't mean to discourage anyone from posting here, I just would hate for WotC people like Rob to go on not knowing what the players want because they never read these pages.

I would love it if Rob had an account here, but it probably won't happen. (And yes, he's been invited to my understanding.)

I think any map that is wide-open and has unfair starting areas is just unfair.

Another good idea would be each opponent chooses one of their maps, and they connect the selected maps , the middle of the two maps becomes gambit. I remember Fool suggested this a while back.

I dont think really changing the game mechanics is ever gonna happen.... I think that Mustafar becomes as issue after the Errata.... It is going to be real hard to keep gambit if you are not playing Rebels

Another alternative is to play a lot of shooters against the rebels, and stay away from the force push/repulse characters and try to shoot them before they can get up to your shooters.

I frankly think Mustafar and Korriban are both equally "bad" now. They are both pure shooter maps, and extremely one-sided. I think Bespin is just as bad because if you roll badly and lose "side choice" and have huges, you are simply dead (they are forced to start in a room they can never get out of).

I really have no trouble with the maps for casual play... but for tournaments, having a map choice decide the game seems absolutely ludicrous to me... and all of those maps effectively do that.

Its mainly just the rigid huges that can't get out of the room. I don't really think Bespin is that bad but then again I don't really many huges, especially not the rigid ones(except occasionally in 200 games).

No IMO.
I am not in favor of banning any map same as i am not in favor of banning any mini.
True these maps are not grate, but what if someone did not like a map you all do like should that be banned also. My answer would be know.
These maps you don't like are not that good for both players so you are still on an equal footing. They mite not be good but they are playable.

Acually mustafar is great for a shooter heavy squad. But horrible for melee heavy squads.
