So is anyone going to post the results from Gencon all in one place ever? Ive seen a few things here or there, but nothing to do with how many people in the major events, rankings for the big tourneys and what people were playing. Ive also only seen 1 player report for what all they played in (not counting the one from Dennis, since he didnt play much).

I realize people have busy schedules, but its been over a week now. Just wonderin. ;)

I'll try to find time to write up my time there later tonight. I haven't gotten to it between getting back into the rhythm at work, moving into a new apartment, and being sick for pretty much all of last week.

If you want to hear about a unique squad, though, how's about this:

--Monster Mash 2011--
55 Grand Master Yoda
42 Kit Fisto, Jedi Master
24 Roron Corobb
18 Bomo Greenbark
9 R2-D2, Astromech Droid
8 Mas Amedda
8 Wicket
10 Rodian Diplomat x2
5 Salacious Crumb
9 Mouse Droid x3
12 Ugnaught Demolitionist x4

(200pts. 17 activations)

That was my Mystery Map squad, which I got 1st place with in that event. It's a slight variation of what I played in the Mystery Map last year, because it's one of my favorite squads. The theme is that there are no humans in the squad (a theme I just came up on a whim), and for a themed squad it's actually quite good. It's also quite good being a squad featuring Bomo Greenbark as the strongest shooter. It does well in the Mystery Map event since it really don't rely on the map at all; it's almost a pure brawler squad. R2 either tows Yoda around for a good Lightsaber Throw (what I usually did) or tows Roron up to get a good Force Repulse. Then Yoda and Kit move in and beat things up. They both have a ton of HP (150 each) and Yoda has Lightsaber Defense while Kit has Block and super high defense (27 defense while getting both Shii Cho and Yoda's CE, which honestly isn't that difficult, and 31 defense with that in cover).

I was quite surprised that I got 1st with such a hodge-podge kind of squad, though.

For the National Tournament, I ran and won with the following squad:

Bastila Shan, Jedi Master
Jedi Battlemaster x3
Jedi Seer
Lobot
Old Republic Senator
R7 Astromech Droid
Mouse Droid x2
Ugnaught Demolitionist

Map: Theed/Royal City Plaza
Reinforcements: Human BG w/ 2 uggies and 1 mouse or 1 uggy and 2 mice
15 activations, 690 HP (reinforcements included)

I went 4-2 w/ 12 points and came out 5th after the Swiss rounds. The idea behind the squad was fairly simple. Seer takes point to soak up fire while the Battlemaster close to inflict as much damage as possible . Between the Seer and Battlemasters, there's over 400 HP w/ defensive ablilities (Block, Deflect, Evade, etc.).

With Bastila sitting not too far behind, she helps w/ the damage output and stops enemy CEs. Depending on the squad I was facing, the Human BG would stay w/ Bastila or my other Jedi. Because I had lots of HP and good damage output, I was able to out last most of my opponents.

Sincerely,
Jester007
