I was browsing the trade forums here and Bloomilk, and I couldn't help but noticed that many threads have Kenobi. With further investigation, I found that he is worth 16-20 bucks online.

I was here for KotOR, and I remember how TERRIBLE he was anyone tried to used him, theme or otherwise. So why is he so high in price?

It is because no matter how much people say they hate Phantom Menace and it sucked, they still really enjoyed the fight between QuiGon, ObiWan, and Maul. That figure is the only ObiWan of that 'era'.

By era I mean its the only one we have of him as kid/young adult. By the time Ep 2/3 roll around, he's probably pushing 30 if not past it already, and obviously he's an old man in the OT.

Thatd be my guess anyway. If you want a young Obi fig, thats the only one.

same reason darth sion is 30+ and jango bh is 35+ and the original revan held at 50+ even before he got an udpated card in V-set 1. Some people just like cool scuplts/figures/poses.

He is also a VR from one of the last 60 figure sets. Not only are those sets harder to come by, but collectors are more interested in completion than playability. It's not uncommon for VRs from those sets to be in the $16-$20 range. I have even seen Jar Jar Binks from KotOR running anywhere from $17-$25.

Don't forget that many of the buyers out there for SWM are just collectors and not players so many of the pieces of the time are not being used for the game at all.

I think it because he's in the BoT V set.

He's about the cheapest Republic piece with Lightsaber Assault, which means that you can chuck him in a squad with General Skywalker, if you can't quite fit a Jedi Weapon Master. So he does have his uses.
