Exactly.

Most of these FP's make the Vong easier to play.

True; it's -kind of- like saying that this Huge set is a vast improvement over the other ones, when in reality the other huge sets weren't very good.

Why?

I loved BH, and Universe wasn't half bad.

On a whole, though, I believe that is generally agreed upon that Universe and BH weren't that good.

No, not really, they can still just make a standard attack against vong, have no init control, I think you can riposte against vong because your generating an attack. You won't need to use force powers to kill vong, they have low defeinse and generally take 1 or 2 hits to kill, force powers aren't really needed and disruptive makes them completely useless.

I guess that this set was a double edged sword for the Vong, eh?
Helped them a little, hurt them a lot more.

I loved Universe. My favorite set. BH was...not great, just too many fringe. And FU is too game unbalancing.

Universe was awesome, BH was ok. Having so many fringe doesn't do much for the game at all. Asking which faction got the biggest boost != asking abut quality of the previous 2 sets.

I also loved Universe, but I hated BH, almost everyone quit at the LGS I go to when it came out, then we got some more people when A&E came out.

Can't Riposte.

Vong doesn't become Meta with this but they DO get a viable boost.

I wouldn't consider them getting a viable boost, they also get hurt in this set since rebels get juno, characters such as kota and VA, Redeemed can just walk up to a vong character and make a standard attack to kill it, and most vong have very low defense and very low HP, and most vong are melee so they can't shoot anything, so the other melee characters with force points can just make a standard attack and kill the vong character in one hit.

Very few Jedi can kill a Warrior in one hit. They will remain in the "counter" area, where Rogue has sat for a while now. Not going to be in the whole meta, but in areas with heavy Force usage, they may show up. And most Vong have a 50% chance of hitting any figure. Thud Bug is awesome, even if you don't make use of its activation part.

no - thud bug is awesome BECAUSE of it's activation part. Otherwise it's a really weak grenade

Vong aren't getting a boost in this set.

You can probably play a Warrior/Scout swarm at 200, but Disruptive completely nerfs Nom Bombs and they can't do anymore dmg unless they benefit from CEs.

Their attack values are so low that they would need a 17 or higher to hit a Luke and Yoda type character, and that fig only has a 20 def, so we aren't talking massive beats here.

Dark Armor completely ruins their faction

Every faction has pretty solid init control through the MTB, but unless an opponent just isn't running it, they can't get an advantage for their Cunning boost, which once again, is ruined by disruptive.

Really the only thing they can hope to do is lose init and be able to get to a square where an unactivated shooter or beatstick hasn't activated yet and attempt a TB.

What a boost!

Dark Armor, DR, Droids all "ruin" their faction. As the case has been since they were introduced. Nothing has changed about this. Since you are dismissing the possibilty of Cunning, stick to Thud Bugs. They at worst have a 50% chance of hitting.

As a counter, a Vong squad can do okay. In a group with heavy Lighting, Push, Repulse squads or Super Stormie squads, they will do quite nicely. Granted, overall, they didn't get a real boost this set. I wouldn't be surprised to see a vong squad pop up every now and again.

"every now and again"

Which is so much more than now, how? So they really didn't get a big boost if they aren't being played to a greater degree correct?

I went with the Rebels.

I think the Vong are a close second though. Had not thought about it before, but lots of FP's ARE a benefit to the Vong. Nice.

Sith! Ok not really, but I would like to think they got the biggest boost.
Rebels probably got the biggest boost.
However, Revan will help the sith a lot in 150 and 200 point squads. I am very excited for him! His commander effect is near Godly, his special abilities are beautiful, his stats are almost perfect! Revan is just so cool.

Also as far as huge sets go. Universe was the best huge set, because of Thrawn. Unleased will be in second, it's cool (so far), but needs more Sith. BH is in third with too many fringe and no Sith.

Vong. It's Vong. Force Immunity is going to be huge for awhile.

The only problem is that now, there's more Force Attacks (like Lightsaber Throw 5) that generate attacks, and will rip through them.
Right now, the only thing the Vong need is a Mas Amedda-type figure, and then they'd be a competitive faction. That's it.

No, even then they'd be nerfed by disruptive, the vong also need init control as well.

Which they do. Just like all the factions now. For only 8pts.

I voted Empire. 30 defense stormies is crazy. Ya, bane is a beast in 100 pt format, but what happens if he only hits his 5 point targets half the time?
