Ok folks it is not my story to tell, so I will leave that up to Jim to decide what he wants to share with everyone.

I will say this now is a time for prayer for Jim and his family. I would like folks to remember his family and pray for their well being.

If you dont believe in God or prayer please dont feel like this thread or forum is your place get on a soap box and share. If you dont believe just dont bother commenting..... ok fair enough?

For those that do believe in the power of prayer please add jim and his family to your list.

Though I have never met him, he sounds like a wonderful guy. I hope everything will be alright. In my thoughts as well.

What is his real name? Feels the tiniest bit weird mentioning Darth Jim in my prayers.

Jim McNaney. He's definitely a really great guy, I remember when I met him at GenCon, it was his first and we had a blast throughout the weekend talking and playing a couple games. Whatever is going on, I will keep him in my thoughts.

Yes, Jim is one of the best. He has a hilarious sense of humor too! I'll be praying for you and yours, Jim.

Amazing. This is the kind of support one might find in church, or perhaps a closeknit family. Yet, time and time again, I've seen you all respond to real life issues in the same way. From Don's tragic fire some years ago to Matt's prayer request for Australia just this past week you all have responded. I thank you for your prayers for my family.

My wife has had problems with her back for a few years, but it took a painful turn for the worst over the Christmas holidays. During one of the recent exams, an x-ray revealed some abnormal bone issues. Without going into too much detail, our family doctor told my wife she wanted her to see an oncologist the very next day about cancer concerns. Of course she called me at work right away...fortunately I was just finishing up. She was frightened and upset which in turn upset me. Today we saw that oncologist and he was more encouraging. At this point they are still concerned with Lymphoma and Myloma (I don't know how to spell it but I'm doing better than my wife who keeps calling it Myopia) but the test results so far aren't supporting that. While her red and white blood cell counts are a little high, all lymph node tests so far are normal. She has a cat scan next week and more appointments, but today the oncologist said it could be something as simple as a vitamin deficiency. Yesterday she was upset at the thought of cancer; today she is miffed that with all of the tests she's taken so far her back still hurts and no one is talking to her about that. (That and our plumbing disaster today which soaked a few of my maps in the basement.) So... for now, I'll count that as a victory.

I will apologize now if you don't see too much of me for awhile, because even if this all turns out not to be cancer, her back is still keeping her from doing too much at home and I have to pick up the slack after 9-10 hour days at UPS. I'm not saying I won't be around, just saying that I'll probably be posting less than my already paltry .007 posts per day average or whatever it is. I thank each and every one of you for your prayers in the meantime, however. And, as long as it isn't cancer, I still plan on having a regional here in Pa and will be at GenCon. Thanks, everyone.

I wish her the best in this ordeal. I've had in my family both cancer (my dad is now in recovery) and back issues (my mom had to have surgery years ago and had the doctor operate on the wrong side) so I can understand what is going through your mind.

Jim,
Im not sure what to say so ill just say say it... I just had a close long time friend die of cancer so when the subject about another friend dealing with the same issues come up i get a little teary eyed. I hope it is something as simple as a vitamin defincicy....I am not very religious but my thoughts and hopes are with your wife and yourself.
