Has anyone in the US managed to get one today?

Not yet! Hoping some miracle will happen in the coming hours.

You would think that Wizards and Target would be more up front about this and be spreading the word. I can't believe there is this little information out on the day it is suppose to be available. Especially since overseas locations already have theirs.

I just got home from checking a couple stores close to me and figured i'd ask about it before I try the third one since that one is a little more out of the way for me.

Guys....word I've heard lately is that it won't release in the US until November 16. Same day as TFU. So, I wouldn't get your hopes up too much unless you can find something on the Wizards site that specifically says it was coming out today. The November 2nd release date was never confirmed, only a rumor.

I was hoping to have it when I went to play at the tourny tonight.

Actually I have confirmation that today is the day from a WotC employee who keeps up with release dates of product, so I'm not sure where you're getting your information.

The only thing I would consider a miracle in regards to the Hoth Battle pack is for a Target store in close proximity to put the thing on the shelf for $9.95 and for it to have a map that is completely unlike the crappy, CRAPPY maps that are in the ones other people are opening.

Seriously, the Hoth Battle Pack is the worst SWM product concept to date. And this is coming from someone who thoroughly enjoys playing the Hoth battle event.

Obviously from a bad source. :P Just trying to be a voice of caution. I'd love to grab one too, but I don't know if I'll have the money to do so for a few weeks. Spent my 'fun' budget on TFU stuff so far. :P

Really? Why do you say that?

I mean, I'm kind of miffed at the number of reprinted pieces in it. I would have rather they cut out some of those pieces and knocked the price down $20 or so. And the reprint of the AT-AT map I could see going either way for people. Like I said in the other thread, it's cool for me, because I never bought an AT-AT. And the reverse side of the map, the Base, looks pretty cool, and quite possibly good for 200 point games (hard to tell if there's safe starting spots yet though, which could make or break it).

dude this is a good map

its balanced, huge friendly, its got safe set up squares, there is room for melee advancement and there is also enough space for shooters to compete.

This is a damn good map.

Meh, I paid $25 for the UM books. At least I get 3 minis I don't already have this time.

Agree with everything there except I'm not seeing the safe starting squares. With Override, I'm sure you can get sniped. After that, I think there aren't many squares that are safe if you set up first. (Course, someone has to set up in such a way that they might be even more exposed if they lose init.)

Not to be a jerk but that map in the hoth pack is NOT "Echo Base". Look in the upper left corner, it's nothing more than an outpost to Echo Base. This is the shed that an AT-AT stomps on as it lumbers towards the shield generator.

If they tried to pass this off as the real base I'd sell my collection on the spot
